Extra's: The best extra for me this time was the 13 minute long Behind the Scenes featurette by Victoria Woodhill. It had a lot of fun moments and nudity, something I like to see in such an extra. There were also three related and two unrelated bonus scenes from other Vivid movies (the three had Tawny in them) that were pretty good. The other extras were standardized, a short biography of Tawny Roberts, a couple of photogalleries, some trailers, a positions room, a double sided DVD cover and lots of spam (I hate having to speed through the spam at the beginning of the movie, why can't you leave it on the extras page?).

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as most porn made these days. The movie was advertised as being shot on film rather than the usual video. While this could be a good thing, it was not in this particular case. The fleshtones looked reddish, the video noise was very prevalent, and the focus was lacking in many scenes. I can't recall any recent Vivid release looking this bad which is a shame since the cast was so solid. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 stereo English but the dynamic range was lacking and the separation was nonexistent. It was hollow and I was less than impressed with the sound here.

Body of Review: Vivid Entertainment is known for releasing a host of movies that range from compilations to features. Some of these have technical issues and others look pretty good but the common thread is that the company focuses on a certain market niche. Most of the time, that niche is for couples or those new to porn, and their latest release in the features market is a strange little title, Dual Identity. The movie centered on the life of a screenwriter played by Evan Stone and his brother (an identical twin played by himself) as they write a story commissioned by a wealthy producer. That's about all there was since the sex kept getting in the way (thankfully). If you like the cast, read the following breakdown of the scenes:

Scene One: Karina, a blonde with large implants, and the mighty Evan, had a scene on a small boat after he argues with his brother (also played by Evan) about what people want in their movies. The couple had some oral and he playfully swatted at her pussy with his penis, causing her to urinate (some would claim squirt though). I think the two had some chemistry but considering his talents, it's no wonder. Her deep throating ability was as advanced as his fingering so each got off at least once during the scene too. Scene Two: Savanna, the blonde Vivid contract star, and Katsumi, the lean Asian hotty that can do it all, dominated Alec in a small room. Summary: Dual Identity is a movie that had identity problems of it's own. The technical matters were very weak, with a horrible picture and simply poor audio, but the sex was pretty good with a decent cast and good extras. That puts me in a bad position since I liked the good parts a lot but they were presented in such a fashion as to kill most of the heat for me. Perhaps working on film wasn't a good idea this time since Paul Thomas usually does a better job with video. I'm going to rate this one as a Skip It unless you're a huge fan of the cast.
