Extra's: The extras were a bit lighter than average this time, led by some trailers and biographies of the entire cast. There was also a photogallery, pop shot compilation from the scenes and some spam but nothing as impressive as many of Sin City's other Ultra line of movies usually has to offer.

Audio/Video Quality: Hot Blooded was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as originally shot. The lighting was generally very good, the composition of the shots well within normal tolerances, and the other visual aspects of the movie nicely done. I did notice some pattern noise on the fishnet top of the first scene and there were some compression artifacts but I didn't see much grain or other problems. The audio was presented in a limited form of stereo English with minimal dynamic range and little separation between the channels. It wasn't bad but the music seemed to take precedence over the vocals in most scenes and I'm not the type that cares for that approach in porn (at least most of the time).

Body of Review: Sin City's Ultra line of movies tends to showcase their contract stars as well as their very best movies on the market. As such, they are given the best extras, the most technically proficient crew, and the hottest co-stars available to the budgets the company allots for its movies. Sadly, sometimes one of them falls through the cracks and that was the case with Hot Blooded, the latest release by the company. The movie's box cover advertised the show as if Karina, the lovely young blonde on the front, were the lead when she wasn't and led me to think something tied the scenes together (which never happened). By themselves, those factors wouldn't necessarily kill the show but read on and you'll see why they were symptoms of other problems. The running time of the show was well under average, no decent extras were included, the sex was generic in all ways with little passion to speak of, and while it looked good, it was also less filling. If you still want to hear more, read the following breakdown of the scenes and maybe you'll know what went wrong with a movie that could've been a contender:

Scene One: Eve, a brunette with large implants but a cute face, and Sharon, a lean Czech blonde wearing a fishnet top, had the first scene together in a large bathtub. Lesbian scenes, lipstick or otherwise, have somewhat fallen out of favor these days (they used to be included in almost all "regular" porn for decades) but the gals seemed to enjoy one another's company here. Eve looked more like a dyke with her shortly cropped hair but Sharon didn't seem to mind when she was getting head. The gals used toys with the oral to get off and the scene was tamer than average but an okay start as a warm up.

Scene Two: Karina, the hot blonde on the front DVD cover, wore a pink PVC outfit as she started the next scene in front of a fireplace with Steve. They made out for a few moments and he went down on her until she "squirted" (took a piss on him) a few times. They continued to rub her the right way, after which she gave him an okay blowjob. I'm sure it felt better than it looked but it got him ready for the minimal screwing he gave her. The scene lacked passion, energy, and chemistry; making it okay to look at once but nothing I'd revisit any time soon.

Scene Three: Taylor, a blonde that reminded me of the most generic of strippers I've seen over the years (not a bad thing in a poorly lit, loud club but in the full of day; not really much to whip it out to), and Tony (who was still suffering from the "I wanna look hip" look he's adopted in recent years; unable, of course, to pull it off successfully), had the following scene on a couch. Her body wasn't bad by any realistic standard with nice legs and minimal stretch marks and while neither of them appeared overly talented in an oral sense, the scene wasn't the worst of the show. She did anal here after he stuck three of his fingers inside her ass during the vaginal sex but it was nothing special and went by very slowly.

Scene Four: Mika, an Asian cutie in black leather and heavy make up, partnered up with Alec (suggested as her real life partner in the biographies), a guy holding a whip and wearing leather pants better than I could (which doesn't say much), had the next scene by a piano. Her oral skills were the best of the movie but she's done a lot better in other movies. The screwing was energetic and I did think they shared some chemistry but it was slow going and even her skills couldn't save the scene from falling into the generic porn scene category.

Scene Five: Sharon, wearing a sexy dress that accentuated her figure, proved to Joey , that older gals could be fun in bed too. I liked her outfit a lot and noticed that the bed they used was the same as I have (this is apparently a common set) but the real fun of the scene was the playfulness with which they had one another. Like the other scenes though, once they got well under way, the sex became more mechanical than for fun, a trap porn seems to fall into all too often. After they screwed vaginally, he popped to her face and licked it off her a bit as they kissed.

Summary: Hot Blooded was worth a rating of Skip It to anyone other than a slavering fanboy of the cast. The best thing going for it were the technical values and while they might've spiced up a number of other movies released this year, they sure weren't enough to save a movie like this one from itself. The sex scenes were often boring and generic, the cast certainly held back or otherwise not at their best and the amount of fuck for the buck well below normal. I'd hate to be the guy that assigned this one the status (one that I'll now be far more willing to question in the future by the way) of Sin City Ultra. Like other companies that "can" make good porn, someone seems to have dropped the ball this time and that's a shame.
