Extra's: The best extra was easily the 11 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Chico Redfield. I wish all of the gals had been given a chance to have some time before the camera and it wasn't long enough but it was the only decent extra of the DVD. Audio/Video Quality: Anal Vixens was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Bridgette Kerkove for release by Metro Interactive's FusXion line. Unlike some of her work from a year or two ago, this one seemed to have a less skilled crew, particularly the cameraman and editor, and it came off as a pale imitation of her best work. The lighting was okay but the composition of the shots was very mixed in terms of quality with some decent fleshtones observed. There was some grain and video noise but not that much and I saw no compression artifacts. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English with music by a band called The Substitutes. To be frank, the music was loud and obnoxious, making me want to turn it down every time I heard it. The vocals weren't handled all that well as the mix didn't favor it and there was no separation between the channels.

Body of Review: Metro's FusXion line has become their top flight gonzo subsidiary where they use their best directors. This said, some directors are better than others, typically relating to the crew more than anything else. Today's review of director Bridgette Kerkove's Anal Vixens, shows a director in transition; one who may well regain her former stature but has seemingly lost something from her movies of late. The movie itself revolved around anal sex with each gal doing it with all the trimmings. This is nothing special compared to the multitude of other such movies on the market but with a cast of talented ladies like this, you have to give it a shot, right? Here's a brief look at the scenes of the movie, noting that no condoms were used buy the cast:

Scene One: Audrey Hollander, the red head on the front DVD cover, wore the same outfit in the movie opener as she kind of teased the camera a bit. To say she was having a bad day might not be fair but she seemed to be having problems connecting with the cameraman and this lowered the heat of this part of the scene. I figured that since her real life partner Otto Bauer was going to work with her though, she should at least show some exceptional chemistry. In a sense, she did but she seemed more intent on watching the camera than on interacting with him as she slobbed his knob and otherwise jilled herself during the beginning of the scene. Both of them took turns jamming fingers in her ass and the cock soon followed as she taunted him to do it harder, faster, and deeper before ramming it down her throat. That she used eight fingers in her ass to hold it open wasn't very appealing to me and how tough could the cock be if she can stuff that much else in there? She then did a technical DP after some ATM and even a DAP (toys only) but it still seemed blasé to me. He finished up by rubbing a load onto her tongue and she swallowed some of it down.

Scene Two: Jamie Brooks/Sheergran, a curvy blonde who must be changing her porn name given the box cover credit, and a skanky brunette named Kristen Sturdevant/Brodi, were up next as they played with one another during the music portion of the next scene. Their partners were Mark Wood and Alec Knight but Brodi did the first part of the scene by herself for some reason. The gals both did anal with all the taste testing trimmings with the loads to their mouths at the end but neither gal seemed in tune with the guys and as a fan of Jamie, I wondered what happened. It was an okay scene for the mechanical stuff but the chemistry was lacking and there was no real passion.

Scene Three: Vanessa Lane, one of the hottest new properties in porn from what I've been noticing, teased the camera on a wooden bench outside in the midday sun in her generic black outfit. By this point in the movie, I wondered where Bridgette's collection of fetishware she always used to use in her movies went and it was pointed out to me that her marital woes probably took care of the costumes (which sucked in a bad way). The actual scene with Benjamin Bratt took place inside the house though with her sprawled across the easy chair as he walked over. She seemed entranced by his meaty member and sucked it off with a ferocity missing elsewhere in the movie, leading me to believe that she was the best cocksucker of the show. It took her awhile to warm up to the anal pounding she took but it wasn't her best scene in recent weeks for many reasons, some technical and others relating to her own lower-than-average energy. It ended as expected with her taking his penis in her mouth for the load, looking as flawless as she did at the beginning of the scene.

Scene Four: Audrey Hollander, this time wearing a black outfit that wasn't as appealing on her body, was up again but with a duo of dynamic dudes; Bad Bob and Trent Tesoro. This time, she appeared to be hitting her mark as she blew them like her good old self. They tapped all three of her holes, including a powerful DP, but the camera work was flawed more than ever as if the cameraman wasn't sure what he was supposed to capture or how. This might've been due to poor direction or some other distraction but the net effect was it lowered an otherwise great scene down to a merely good scene. There were all the usual tricks this time from the taste testing to the guys moving from hole to hole, slapping her and otherwise abusing her to heighten the effect. She took the loads well enough but the scene wasn't what it should have been.

Scene Five: Shy Love, the sexy brunette with large implants and an otherwise lean body was up last as she valiantly tried to show off her dance moves on the light pole on the back lawn in a chain mail outfit. She smoked a cigarette too and the actual sex took place with Otto Bauer in the living room with her initiating the oral on him while bending over. Her oral was less energetic and more of the slow, sultry kind and this worked for Otto as she then took him in her other two holes well enough. I wasn't keen on him sticking his hand inside her pussy (four fingers, straight as opposed to being crunched together) but she didn't seem to mind. She wasn't overly energetic in the anal portions of the scene but fans of slower anal will like it. He finished by rubbing out a load onto her face.

Summary: Anal Vixens had some moments of heat but they were few and far between compared to other works by the director and cast so I rated it as a Rent It. It wasn't bad but it had some shining moments weakened by technical matters. The ladies were attractive, the extras minimal, and the other aspects of the movie kind of average in most ways but fans of the cast will probably find them worth a look or two so check it out if you're so inclined. Bridgette may not be at her best these days but she could turn it around with a bit of assistance so I'm looking forward to what she comes up with next, even if this one wasn't up to her usual standards.
