First Impressions:
Like death and taxes, the certainty of the Dirge's dislike for All Girl Same Sex titles is fairly inevitable. In the vast porn universe, there is just something so stagnant, so incomplete about watching a couple of babe's bedazzling each other. It feels so adolescent, so immature male fantasy fodder like, that it almost never delivers the kind of conflagration that other types of hardcore can. Sure, there are exceptions – the Where the Boy's Aren't releases, for one, have the usual collection of cunts going gonzo on each other with wild, wanton abandon, and every once in a while, a story-based straight feature will find a way to work in some Sapphic pyrotechnics. But overall, the Dirge doesn't appreciate the finer elements of dickless diddling, and the last time he approached a title by Dana Dane, he wasn't too impressed. But something strange happened during his perusal of Erocktavision Volume 6. The same sex stuff that typically provided limited loin lifting was actually fairly erotic. As a matter of fact, a couple of scenes were almost volcanic in their vice.

The Sex Scenes:
As stated before, Dana Dane is more filmmaker than flesh peddler. She enjoys the many bells and whistles that come with the new fangled digital age, and adds more optical options to each of her scenes than fuck and suck fans would probably appreciate. Indeed, what should be smoking is more like a collection of outtakes from an episode of the Red Shoe Diaries. Still, there is something rather unique about ErocktaVision Volume 6 that was missing from previous installments of the series. Instead of relying solely on visuals to sell the sex, Dane gathered a group of five fiery femmes who just can't get enough of each other's unmentionables. It is they, not the direction or the pictorial panache, that actually helps this hardcore. There will be those who will complain about five scenes (actually, four) and a mere 75 minutes of running time, but the overall value of the material here more than makes up for such temporal short comings.

Playing some manner of criminal commandos, Lindsey and Charmane steal into a skyscraper stairwell under the cover of night and decide that a good way to spend their time hiding out is via some good old fashioned female Frenching. Long, languid takes show the pair pawing each other and giving their body parts intense tongue baths. Eventually, blou and trou are dropped and the gals engage in some powerful oral attention. Indeed, as an indication of where Erocktavision Volume 6 is going, this excellent opening scene really sizzles. The girls look slightly dirty and perspired, which always adds to the arousal factor, and their sensational stint of mons on mons grinding really gives this sequence an excellent shot of steam. Luckily, Ms. Meadows and Star will be featured off and on throughout this DVD, boding well for the film's overall smut specifics.

It's a hot summer afternoon and our quartet of talent is up on the sun-splashed roof having a frisky old time squirting each other with water pistols. Of course, Ms. Dane's direction doesn't give us a lot of time to appreciate the liquid tease before it's onto full blown babe balling. Still, with a couple of gals getting it on in a kiddie pool (lots of sexy water beads cascading down nicely tanned flesh) and a general aggressiveness, this orgy-esque free for all has some incredibly exciting moments. It's just too bad the entire sequence didn't come together better. It's more like a collection of individual moments rather than one long carnal cavalcade.

Scene 3: Kimberley Kane, Jolean, Akina

This is a very odd, and very intense, indirect threesome. In essence, Ms. Kane and Akina do a lot of fake dick drilling while Jolean looks on and lathers up her loins. Eventually, the add-on appendage meets our onlooker's orifices, and before we know it, we have a pleasant porn pile-up that's high on heat and low on limpness. It's a good thing that Ms. Dane picks performers who have a great deal of chemistry with one another. Her filmmaking style doesn't leave of lot of free time for actresses to develop onscreen crackle. Just as we're experiencing some palpable passion, the camera cuts to something else or the visuals vibrate with pointless post-production elements.

What could make a sequence between Lindsey and Charmane even more erotic? How about the addition of a fake phallus? Both girls go nuts over each other's naughty bits before bringing out the boner, and once it's introduced into the situation, the level of lewdness increases dramatically. Granted, this is not guy on gal action, but Dane does do a novel thing, showing the classic "man ass" shot with one of our ladies' fetching fetlocks in the lens. While the DVD claims there is actually a fifth scene as part of the marital aide mix, the truth is that this is the final sex sequence. The other episode is like a highlight reel, offering different shots from the other four scenes previously presented.

No – the Rapture is not upon us. It's not the end of the world, nor is Al Gore's predictions about planetary devastation about to come true – at least, not at this very moment. Indeed, the Dirge is going to give ErocktaVision Volume 6 a Recommended rating. In an adult reviewer's pornographic paradigm where one type of erotica is generally favored over another, reconsidering a genre – in this case, the same sex title – is more or less unheard of. Proclivity typically doesn't change, and what one finds dull and derivative almost always stays that way. But thanks to Dana Dane and her desire to find women who actually enjoy getting gratuitous with each other, ErocktaVision Volume 6 succeeds. For couples who crave beautiful, unobtrusive action with lots of pretty visual flair, you will not find a better XXX-ample. As a result, a Cohabitation Certification is easily awarded. While it probably won't happen again any time soon, the Sappho sizzle offered here has temporarily made yours truly into a lesbo leaning critic.
