The video suffered from some natural light shooting, but other than that the picture and color were fine. The audio also suffered from being a two-person production.

Body of Review:

Adventure Sex is director Dave Road's vision. Yes, he said it himself. Vision. His vision was to travel around the country taping people having sex. Not too terrible a vision, but not what I would typically think of. Anyway, this disc follows the exploits of Jack and Katrena as they have sex all over the country including such scenic places as the Golden Gate Bridge and in front of the famous Hollywood sign.

The sex is pretty good, borderline amateur stuff, especially seeing as how the two never did work before this film. There is some chemistry between the couple and they seemed to grow rather intimate throughout the filming, as could be expected if they were spending all day together in a cramped van with one another. Some of the sex is tainted by the locales either with poor camera angles, bad natural light, and just the fact that they were having sex in public and it was difficult to obtain a good shot. This was a cool premise though, it was fun seeing people go at it in very famous places.

My big gripe with this movie is that it displayed exactly what is wrong with adult films. In her casting interview Katrena says that she can only perform after she has had a few drinks and that she only does blowjobs when drunk. Before and between many scenes all those involved drink and smoke marijuana. Drug and alcohol problems have been rampant in the adult film industry for a long time and this is only perpetuating that behavior. I may be taking it the wrong way, but I really don't think anything even remotely promoting or glorifying the problems facing many stars of the industry is right.

Concluding words:

This was a cool 'vision.' I applaud Road for coming up with an interesting idea, although I certainly could have done without the Jack Kerouac references. This is a fun movie, but a bit on the disturbing side for the reasons I just mentioned.
