Audio/Video Quality: Dana Vespoli’s Real Sex Diary was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Dana Vespoli for Evil Angel. The visual elements this time were generally lacking, two of the scenes shot in a very shaky manner with tremendous amounts of grain while the other two included one that was shot in an almost cable ready manner with scant penetration observed, the fourth showing Dana working toys into Adriana but not receiving any love. There was a company watermark but this was the roughest looking flick by the director in terms of being furthest from a professional look, the over use of POV camera work and low lighting weakening it a lot. The aural components of the show were basic and not overly distinctive but I could hear the cast going at it, whispering sexual comments toward one another and otherwise providing some ear candy worth listening to.

Body of Review: Dana Vespoli is one of the more creative directors distributed by Evil Angel. Her latest release just came out, a movie called Dana Vespoli’s Real Sex Diary, the emphasis on real sex as opposed to pornified sex in a manner that was like a female version of Manuel Ferrara’s “Raw” series, Dana out to have fun without the trappings of the porn world. The company website described the action like this: “Dana Vespoli’s Real Sex Diary” delivers the inventive director/sexy tattooed MILF’s candid, intimate footage of her private, after-hours hook-ups. With no costumes, set-ups or make-up, unscripted “reality porn” reveals behind-the-scenes personality. Erotica does not get more naturalistic than the handheld camera phone footage of Dana’s visit to stud-next-door James Deen: Two casually conversational pornographers do what comes naturally on their own time. Summary: Dana Vespoli’s Real Sex Diary by director Dana Vespoli for Evil Angel was an interesting experience to say the least, earning a rating of Skip It for a general audience. Dana is known for taking chances but the technical aspects of the show proved wanting, half the footage shot in POV with too much grain and low lighting, another scene showing Dana testing toys on Adriana with solid flesh tones, and the fourth scene with Tyler a very mixed bag too. A lot of the material here was Dana and the cast just talking too, no real connection developed that wasn’t already present and the replay value as scant as the strokability. In short, Dana Vespoli’s Real Sex Diary was another experimental flick that might have greatly benefited by having someone edit the none sex portions out, apply some decent lighting, and add a second camera or at least try a better approach so look for something you’re more likely to enjoy or don’t complain when you find this one lacking.
