Audio/Video Quality: The scenes were presented in the typical 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that is the standard for the porn industry at this time. The scenes themselves came from 1999 through 2001, a period when Vivid was not exactly known for having the best technical standards. The scenes almost all suffered from grain, video noise and lighting problems. The good news is that the company has been working on those issues and even here, the scenes weren't terrible (well, most of them weren't terrible). If you're very sensitive to these issues, you might find some of Dayton's newer work more appealing but the scenes she made back in her prime all looked like this (regardless of the company) so fans will not be deterred. The audio was presented in stereo English but there was no separation between the channels and little by way of dynamic range.

Body of Review: Dayton Rains has been one porn's most desired performers over the years, at one time courted by Vivid, JKP, and even companies like VCA. One look at the woman and you'll know why she had so many suitors, from her blonde hair to her curvy but lean body to her wickedly devilish smile, the gal packs a punch with consumers. Vivid, having so much footage of the tasty treat, has released a number of compilations in recent years, with the latest being 5 Star Dayton. If you're a fan of Dayton Rains or attractive women in general, read the following breakdown of the ten included scenes for this compilation, all of which contained the blonde bombshell:

Scene One: Bad Thoughts: D-David Allen Clark: Dayton, the lovely blonde cover girl, Eric, and Pat, had a scene that already was underway when the scene opened up. Clocking in at over seventeen minutes, a near miracle for Vivid, the scene was long enough to cover all the bases with some interesting, if vanilla, sex. She blew Eric while Pat went down on her; they then swapped out so Eric could hammer her pussy for a while. Eventually, Pat got some of that fine tail too and the scene was a decent way to open the DVD. It ended when they jerked off on her all-natural chest and body.

Scene Two: Believe It Or Not: D-Paul Thomas: Dayton, in a blue top, Meriesa, a gal with long brown hair, and TJ had a scene on a couch. This scene was also short, containing oral and straight only but they tried some interesting positions (I liked the pile driver myself), and kept it fun. Scene Five: Busted: D-Cleo Edwards: Dayton, Nicole, Wendy, and Adajja, had a lesbian scene that lasted nearly twenty minutes. The initial focus was on Wendy and Nicole indoors, but it cut between that and Dayton with Adajja outdoors a bunch too. Personally, I'd rather it be made two separate scenes but that's just my take. Most of the action was oral and fingers but some toys crept in towards the latter half of the show and even included some anal play. Tony Tedeschi had a cameo as a pervert watching the gals go at it but thankfully he didn't join in.

Scene Six: Delirium: D-Robby D.: Dayton and Pat had a scene on a table in front of some maroon curtains. She blew him with some vigor and he boned her fairly well but it just didn't work for my libido due to the reddish tint of the lighting and grain as well as other technical problems. Fans may appreciate that she took a bit of anal here but it was very slow and he hardly went inside her ass before jerking off onto her chest.

Scene Seven: Fluff: D-Paul Thomas: Dayton, Pat and TJ started off in the bathroom but quickly moved the action onto a couch in the other room, probably for space concerns. There was some oral but the straight sex took precedence here with Pat getting the lion's share of poontang. Towards the end, she started getting vocal but it was too little, too late to impact on the heat levels here. Both guys ended it by jerking off onto her abdomen and crotch.

Scene Eight: The Jungle: D-Cody: Dayton, Chennin, Envy, Venus, Monique and Mark had a scene in a tropical setting with the gals all body painted up like animals. I liked the scene despite its technical issues (grain and lighting) and the scene had plenty of heat.

Scene Nine: Marissa: D-Paul Thomas: Dayton, Cassidy, Venus and John, had a scene that had already started on top of a bar. The gals started it off by licking each other in the tried & true lesbian porn style, before John was observed as a voyeur in the background. The gals then pulled out toys and started banging one another before he got to lick a bit too. There was anal use of toys for those who care and John never really did much in the scene.

Scene Ten: Where The Boys Aren't 14: D-Chi Chi LaRue: Dayton, Dasha and Kira had a scene together where Dayton serviced Dasha who then reciprocated. Kira was only in at the end but seemed happy to be on the receiving end of the fun. The main thrust of the scene was Dasha dominating Dayton, making her lick her lengthy boots for example, and the setting was a noisy club.

Summary: 5 Star Dayton is well worth a rating of Rent It for fans of the attractive performer. I hesitate to rate it higher due to the technical issues and lack of distinctive extras (i.e.: no bonus scenes with Dayton like so many other Vivid compilations contain) but it's well worth giving a look see to find out if it's for you. Fans should also note that Dayton is currently making something of a comeback, having signed a contract with Cherry Boxxx Pictures for films like Dayton's Latest Movie.
