Extras: The two disc set was much like other such release by Jules in the past in how it offered a lengthy movie divided into two parts along with some decent extras. The best extra for me was the 15.5 minutes of bonus footage from the scenes. There was some goofing around but most of the time; it was simply edited sex material with some commentary by the gals about their scenes. There was a cumshot recap, a lengthy photogallery, some limited filmographies, and trailers to the title itself as well as movies like Ass Worship 8, Weapons of Ass Destruction 4, Tunnel Vision, Jenna Haze: Dark Side, Feeding Frenzy 7, Flesh Hunter 8, Invasion, Once You Go Black 4, and Slut Puppies.

Audio/Video Quality: Jules Jordan's Black Owned was presented in the visually less appealing 1.33:1 full frame color (than his recent release with Jenna Haze) as originally shot by director Jules Jordan for distribution by his own company, Jules Jordan Video. The lighting was presented in a very pleasing manner that lit up the action in most scenes very well. There were a few scenes where this wasn't the case but that was almost certainly due to Jules providing a more realistic setting for thematic results. So, in the scenes where the lighting was flat and strong; the picture was better than anything of Jules that I've watched to date. The scenes where the lighting couldn't be provided that way were still well lit for the circumstances but admittedly not optimal for seeing the action as clearly as some fans, myself included, would like. The grain and video noise were both better than usual, marking another positive visual improvement by Jules that was complimented by the compositional work Jules offered up that repeatedly enhanced the look of the cast. There were no noticed compression artifacts and while the picture wasn't the best gonzo I've seen; it was somewhat better than I expected. I wonder what future releases using one of the true high definition formats (Blu-Ray of HD-DVD) will do for the quality of the picture given his recent improvements over past works. The audio was presented in a stereo 2.0 Dolby Digital offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was a lot of potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, an area that seemed slightly better than previous efforts and an area that Jules could easily improve to make best use of the great many home theatres in the hands of porn fans everywhere.

Body of Review: Jules Jordan is a porn prophet to many fans for the way he was able to revitalize Evil Angel with his efforts for them in the last several years. He seemed to be able to take even the lamest performer, process her through the Jules Jordan style, and end up with a decidedly better performance than most expected. Had he done this a couple of times, no one would've paid any notice to him but he seemed capable of transforming some mediocre gals into wanton sluts of infinite desire in a way that turned many heads. Granted, there were those who never really cared for his style and I was a late comer to his work myself, learning to appreciate him more as time passed and I looked past his technical limitations. Well, now that he's at his own company and distributing his own titles, he's showing a renewed sense of what makes his libido tick, and his latest offering to the fans is Jules Jordan's Black Owned, a collection of brand new interracial scenes by some of the most talented ladies in porn. If you like the cast and have been a fan of Jules, you're going to like this one too, especially since it clocked in so close to the advertised "over 3 ½ hours" mentioned on the front DVD cover. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that the men weren't credited but I'm acquainted with most of them so I felt comfortable listing them here (with no condoms used either for those who care):

Scene One: Julia Bond, playing a gorgeous construction worker handling the renovations of Jules' house, was up first in her tiny outfit by the pool. The levels of fuck for the buck aside, most of the ladies were a bit out of their league which may actually make this one more appealing to those of you wanting to see their limits pushed past their comfort zone. I feel obligated to tell you that I'm not a believer of interracial porn per se (we're all the same race folks, no matter what some sociologists might tell you) but some of the men were able to provide especially good performances her, including Mr. Marcus, Sean Michaels, and Brian Pumper to name a few. If you're looking for lots of circus act sex or abusive antics, look elsewhere but I thought that the title was worth a rating of Recommended or better, depending on how much you enjoy the type of genre this one addressed.
