Extras: The best extra for most people will be the bonus blowjob scene by Monica Sweetheart on "Alex" in POV fashion. It lasted 9.5 minutes and showed why so many fans have fallen for her oral skills in the past, serving as a great extra. There was also a really interesting 17 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that showcased several of the ladies and provided extra hardcore footage of them in action. Audio/Video Quality: Assacre was presented in the original 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Martin Del Toro for Platinum X Pictures. The lighting was solid in most cases, reducing the grain & video noise to minimal levels. The composition of the shots was almost always somewhat favorable to the ladies and helped enhance their already decent looks though there was a bit more movement with the camera during some of the close ups than I generally prefer. The DVD mastering was solid as well and this is an area where Red Light District/Platinum X Pictures has long proven to be ahead of the pack. The only point of contention some of you will have is with the light watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen but it really wasn't all that noticeable to me given the fisheye effect employed during the scenes. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo with crisp vocals and none of the lame music getting in the way once the sex scenes started. I really didn't mind that there was no separation or that the dynamic range was only slightly better than average since I could hear everything but more vocals would've been appreciated.

Body of Review: Platinum X Pictures has seen more stable times but the addition of directors like wildcard Martin Del Toro have proven to be largely favorable in terms of getting some new blood showing a different viewpoint in gonzo as a result. While he has been somewhat hit or miss with me of late, I went in watching his latest flick, Assacre, with the hope it would be another hit; even if the reality of the movie proved to be a case of running out of steam too soon. Here's a look at the anal antics that took place, noting that every gal did lots of anal and oral with little let up and no condoms:

Scene One: Kelly "Fuckin" Wells, a gal with lightened hair and a reputation for extremely hardcore anal sex, was up first as she masturbated on the couch with a huge anal plug stretching her ass. She didn't get in much tease when John Strong, Michael Stefano, and Brian Surewood all walked over to give her some cock to suck; a feat she more than willingly complied with. She swallowed at the end of the scene and if you're looking for a cock socket scene to admire, this was as good as it gets but I wanted something more active on the part of the lady.

Summary: Assacre started out strong and had some serious highlights worth watching repeatedly but even a fan of gonzo porn like me found the repetitive nature of the anal tricks to lack the creativity needed to provide replay and stroke value. This proved my contention from a few moths ago that director Martin Del Toro can be very hit or miss and what I noticed weakening the scenes for me the most was how some of the most sexually aggressive and active anal performers were acting passive; passive to the point where I knew that they must have been told to act that way, resulting in a rating of Rent It unless you're a slavering fanboy of the cast or into gals that act strictly as cock sockets. It wasn't the worst release I've seen of late but the limitations outweighed the strengths, marking it as a mixed bag of tricks for my enjoyment.
