Extra's: The best extra was the 15 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that used deleted footage from the movie. While some of it was edited from the movie (usually because of poor angles, audio, or lighting most of the time), I was happy that the extra sex was often interesting and added some fun. There were some trailers, a photogallery, and a lot of commercials as well but that was it.

Audio/Video Quality: Seymore Butts' The Anal Life was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Seymore Butts for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies, to be distributed by Pure Play Media. While his works have often been technically limited in terms of lighting, grain, and other visual flaws, he wisely focuses less on technical matters to concentrate his efforts on providing the kind of raw energy that far too few pornos have these days. This DVD looked similar to past efforts of his, with some minor lighting and grain issues as much as anything else but it didn't look bad at all. The composition of the scenes varied less than in other recent Seymore movies, making the women look pretty good, if not their very best. While I don't believe the action is unscripted as his movie try to show, if you skip the BTS feature you might think the action is unstaged or as if Seymore mindlessly walks into the scenes (but we all know better) and that detracts from the otherwise fun sex he offers up. There were no observed compression artifacts so at least the DVD mastering was solid. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track was okay with no separation between the channels and limited dynamic range; much like other gonzo releases these days.

Body of Review: Seymore Butts was one of the dominant performer/directors in gonzo porn for years before moving strictly behind the camera not long ago, focusing his efforts on improving his work at Seymore Butts Home Movies (especially after Showtime cancelled his series). Rather then have a specific theme or take the show on the road like he used to do, he generally settles for material shot in and around his house these days, much like any other pornographer in the gonzo field. His latest release is Seymore Butts' The Anal Life, where he captures some of the same old people having anal sex with the premise that he is walking in on them in the act, never missing a beat as though it was a perfectly natural thing to happen. If you're a fan of his recent work, this will serve up as another helping of it, though decidedly limited in most ways as the one man camera crew (Seymore) can't get all the action effectively. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Luscious Lopez, a curvy brunette with a great big booty and pale Aaliyah Jolie, were up first in the back yard by the pool as they had Tom Byron spread some tanning oil on their bodies. He was reluctant at first but it served to rev up their engines so he capitulated and served their needs which resulted in them servicing him orally in return. Summary: Seymore Butts' The Anal Life by director Seymore Butts for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies was an okay stroke flick if you like the women (and I generally found them physically appealing) but it had limited replay value unless you're really into guys getting their assholes licked, fingered, and otherwise played with (since that was about the only thing differentiating it from the rest of the market as far as I could tell). As such, I rated it as a Rent It but feel free to adjust the rating as you see fit, noting that this is a far cry from the adventurous Seymore of old, coming off like every corner was cut in order to make more money. In short, Seymore Butts' The Anal Life was a generic sort of Seymore flick that neither offered anything of significantly value nor served to expand any boundaries yet unexplored by the director or his cast.
