Audio/Video Quality: Ultimate Blondes was captured in anamorphic widescreen by director Mimefreak for Arch Angel. The lighting was plentiful and this enhanced the look of the scenes, a lot of crisp detail observed including AJ’s brilliant eyes, the tiny hairs on some of the ladies, and a variety of other aspects including accurate flesh tones showing the director providing the kind of visuals expected of him. The editing was generally well done too, the camera movement not always framing each scene or portion of each scene perfectly but certainly capturing the essence of the action to convey the chemistry of the performers. There was no company watermark and the video bit rate was decent, my viewing on a large screen television revealing a very modest number of compression artifacts. The aural components in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo were fairly basic, not in a bad way mind you but basic, the limited amount of talking and ambient noises blended in with the uncredited musical scoring that fit the action.

Body of Review: Mimefreak is an accomplished director working at Arch Angel these days, his skills at bringing out solid sexual performances of high end casts making him one of the favored directors of growing groups of fans. His latest movie in for review is called Ultimate Blondes, a set of five scenes of interracial action focusing on blonde ladies doing black men with a great deal of enthusiasm and energy. That the front cover sported delicious hotty AJ Applegate was my initial reason for picking up this copy to check out, my appreciation for Cherie DeVille sealing the deal. That it also had Anikka Albrite, Aaliyah Love, Capri Cavanni, and Bailey Blue (as “Dahlia Skye”) further showed someone was paying a great deal of attention in casting this one too. Of interest to some of my friends, the male contingent was also solidly high end with Jovan Jordan, Prince Yahshua, Sean Michaels, and Rico Strong all in play here, the only thing missing per one of my review team was all the ladies doing anal. Personally, I was just fine with the gals doing suck genetically gifted men within their comfort zone of mouth and pussy, some better able to handle the guys than others but none of them dropping the ball in any meaningful manner. Going in, the biggest issue to me was the fact that many of the ladies were not natural blondes, some purists probably rightly wanting what was advertised.

The company website described the movie like this: “What is your idea of an ultimate blonde? ArchAngel has some ideas. Like everything else they do, they’re redefining the term. In short, while Ultimate Blondes was a “back to basics” approach a handful might not like simply because it doesn’t have a bunch of silly “firsts” to speak of, the director proved yet again that he needn’t rely on gimmicks like some insecure gonzo directors as he focuses on getting great performances out of top flight casts instead. The ladies were largely into the action and the technical values helped make this one stand out, perhaps I will see some of the other company releases before award time revisits us again so check it out.
