Audio/Video Quality: Silhouette was presented in a crisp, anamorphic widescreen as shot by director B. Skow for Girlfriends Films under their Skow Digital line. Skow, Mike Towers, and Sparta worked the cameras and the editing by Edward Anderson was great in most cases. David Stanley wrote the screenplay and while some scenes appeared to be adlibbed, it mostly worked for me. Technically, it looked like an indie film shot on a tight budget but there were a lot of establishing shots and other aspects of a “real” movie you rarely see these days. The stereo aural aspects of the movie were nicely done, the vocals easily understood, the uncredited mood music impacting the quality of production in a good way. There was some wind noise in the opening sequence and some of the vocals were out of synch at first but it was otherwise pretty solid aurally with good music.

Body of Review: B. Skow is the most skilled director at Girlfriends Films, his talents developed over many years for Vivid. His latest flick is called Silhouette, a touching drama using supernatural elements in a curious manner to show a tale of a father and daughter reconnecting after the loss of their significant other. Again, I’m not going to go too deeply into the specifics here and ruin the story like others seem all too willing to do in their reviews but there were definitely some huge plot holes and leaps of faith to be made in those feature elements in case you were wondering. That said, with ladies like AJ Applegate, Abby Cross, Devon, and Ana Foxxx in play here, there was a lot to appreciate sexually.

The back cover described the movie like this: “Bob Loves Carol. Carol Dies. Bob is left to raise his estranged teenage daughter, Dana, who he doesn't know how to talk to. Dana turns 18 and Bob decides to make a nice party for her. He orders a cake from a young black baker named Gladys who brings it to his house. When it turns out Gladys is actually Carol reincarnated, bob finds both the love he's been longing to return to and a way to get his daughter to believe in life again. But how long will Carol's return last? Time enough to heal all the wounds left behind in her wake. Only time will tell.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Devon, the blond with large boobs standing on the left side of the front cover, and haunted looking Billy Glide, the man standing beside her on the cover, were up first in a sort of flashback scene after he turned down a hooch trying to get some action. I’ll admit that my main reason for picking this one up sexually was the inclusion of AJ Applegate but Abby Cross was hot and Ana Foxxx did a fine job, Devon back doing features in her latest comeback reminding me of her roots in the industry so many years ago. In short though, Silhouette was a fantasy piece that spent as much time developing the story as it did the sex so it will likely be best suited for those of you looking for overall entertainment value than as a rain coater stroke flick so check it out.
