Audio/Video Quality: Flesh was presented in a crisp anamorphic widescreen offering as shot by director Jakodema for Digital Playground. Sir Richard Manwin III and Billy Visual were credited with working cameras, and a large group of others providing their own technical assistance such as Kylie Ireland and Andy Appleton handling Art Direction. There was a lot of texture and variation of lighting, like a “real” series instead of a porno with warehouse lighting, making it visually more appealing though some of the trysts could have used more lighting (my preference) and other areas could have stood a second take due to camera positioning. The aural qualities by Seth Cardigan was modest but presented in 2.0 stereo the bit rate of 192 Kbps not hurting the ability to hear the vocals, some pretty good music included though it wasn’t credited to anyone.

Body of Review: Digital Playground has long stood out as one of the biggest feature porn producers in the industry, popular director Jakodema coming out with a web series recently called Flesh, now released on a double disc set. The show had eight episodes of varying lengths and continued the company’s series format, the starlets including Eva Lovia, Abella Danger, AJ Applegate (among others). The story elements centered on an attractive young lady (company contract star Eva Lovia) who falls under the sexually abusive spell of a rich older man in what appears to be the latest tribute to a trilogy of BDSM books by a porn producer. The fetish aspects were pretty light here, just right for couples wanting the tiniest of peeks but none of the dirty details involved in power exchanges and kink. With supporting roles for Abella Danger, AJ Applegate, and other attractive women, it was worth a look but mainly for those that are just getting started in porn or the whole 50 shades stuff.

The back cover described the movie like this: “By day she's a working professional, and by night she's Number 4. Scene One: The Firm: The first episode was called “The Firm” which established Eva being hired with some interpersonal dynamics taking place over her selection by the law partners. Summary: Flesh by director Jakodema for Digital Playground was fun enough that it merited a rating of Rent It, the limited acting abilities combined with the writing to limit replay value even after you consider this was a thinly veiled copy of “50 Shades...” The double disc collection of 8 episodes had some good moments but Eva Lovia really did not convey the needed dynamic all that well and the sex was very repetitive in each scene despite some dabbling with BDSM kink. In short, Flesh was not terrible at all, just limited in scope so the strokability and replay value should’ve been better, the ending a big let down from what was expected.
