First Impressions:
Having had the pleasure to review Stormy's first stint behind the camera - last year's One Night in Vegas - it is nice to see this novice director making advances in her style and technique. Her first film was a little jumbled, carrying way to much plot for a porn film. Luckily, 3 Wishes doesn't suffer from such overstuffing. Here, we get the familiar formulaic storyline - a nerdy nebbish who can't catch a break makes a deal with the Devil, and hijinx ensue. Stormy appears as a character named "Angelica" and if you can't already figure out the importance of her part, you haven't been paying attention to the standard 'selling your soul to Satan' schema. Anyway, Eric Masterson is our hapless hero, and he has one of those days that only happen in the movies. Within the span of 24 hours, he loses his job, his girlfriend, his cable (!!!) and his eternal spirit. Devon Michaels shows up as a decidedly Ms. Mephistopheles and we get three wishes, three semi-comic outcomes. Stormy has some problems with humor. Masterson makes an excellent foil, but the tone occasionally feels to heavy for what is really a light slice of lunacy. In addition, the rest of the cast can't match Masterson's acting ability. He's perfect. They're perfunctory. Since she shows signs of obvious improvement, Stormy is destined to be a major player in the future of porn. As an overall effort, 3 Wishes is not spectacular. Instead, it is slightly above average.

The Sex Scenes:

One thing Stormy does know, and that's hardcore action. While the scenes here definitely sizzle, they do underwhelm some of the time. As a filmmaker, Ms. Daniels falls into a clear combination of the two 'Triple P' patterns of erotica. There is plenty of passion. The fuck and suck is definitely prettied up, and there is a real lack of aggression. What we do get are excellent match-ups, each partner really enjoying what the other brings to the mix. So, logically, this should make for dynamite diddling. But the reality is a little more routine. For some reason - mostly with the manner in which the XXX material arrives during the narrative - we never quite feel the full effect of the sex. It could be a matter of mood, but whatever it is, it definitely turns down the electricity.

Scene 1: Jasmine Byrne, Nick Jacobs

Jasmine Byrne is an exceptional performer, and when paired with the right person she truly excels. While Nick Jacobs is kind of a lunkheaded load, he is well versed in the stud for sale mannerisms. The addition of anal is always welcome, and the final money moment is a literal load and a half (as an adult actor, Mr. J can really bring the nut nectar). But there is still something undermining the action. Stormy's camera covers all the angles perfectly, and the imagery can be very exciting and inviting. Yet even with the excess sperm, there's an arms length element to the porking that's very perplexing.

Scene 2: Eva Angelina, Eric Masterson

Though Eric looks atrocious in his bottle blond hair (it looks like a diabetic monkey took several whizzes on his head), his first scene with the very attractive Eva Angelina is a good one. There is not much to the motion, but there is plenty of push in the bush. Eva gives a good sloppy blowjob, and Eric pounds pussy with the best of them. But the overall effect is limited by the number of positions and the placement of the action (a rather small office space). In the end, the money shot 'comes' far too rapidly and what should have been fiery and fierce ends up like the cinematic equivalent of coitus interruptus.

Scene 3: Devon Michaels, Billy Glide, Tommy Gunn

At one time in her career, Devon Michaels was a 'fitness model'. She still carries the body type scars from those endless hours in the gym. For some men, a ripped body like hers, accented with a pair of bowling ball breasts, is the hierarchy of hotness. Those sinewy biceps and that bubbling butt just grab the groin and send it soaring skyward. But for others, including the Dirge, she doesn't look healthy - she looks under fed and unhappy. Face gaunt, neck muscles bulging like a juiced up body builder, Devon may talk - and fuck - a good game, but she doesn't look comfortable doing it. Again, this critic has to wonder about a guy/girl/guy scene without a lick of DP (or ANY anal for that matter) and it's clear that Tommy and Billy were hired as much for their cocksmanship as their tanned leather look. Together, they create a clear carnal delight. But there are issues involved, one's that may derail your own personal desires.

Even with Stormy and Devon turning up the lesbo heat, this is still the same old Sappho shit. The Dirge has already made it clear that a sister squared sequence does very little for him, and even with Stormy's arousing assets on full, curvaceous display, there is nothing really revelatory about this slice of same sex…sex. The most interesting thing about the action is the use of candles as teasing toys. Stormy takes two in her coot, while Devon gets one in the dumper. The final payoff, involving a lighter and a one liner, is hilarious, but the build-up wasn't worth it. Besides, the trailer ruins the bit beforehand.

If there is a reason to slog through the other four scenes in this set - besides the movie's straight storyline - it's the final fuck and suck between our stars. Again, Stormy is amazingly hot, as luscious a voluptuous vixen as you are likely to see on screen. This couple really gets into each other, performing like there's no one else in the room. The heat is real and the fire is ferocious. However, the lack of positions really undercuts the moment. Instead of being a powerful porn payoff, we feel like something has been left out.

Because Stormy is so incredible, because her filmmaking style is light and airy, because she strives to make hardcore movies, not just films with fucking in them, The Dirge will again give the gal a break. While not really comparable to her other efforts, 3 Wishes still warrants attention. Therefore, a score of Recommended is easily offered. As for couples, they are clearly Stormy's demographic. She seems to be making her movies directly for the marital aide marketplace. Therefore, a Cohabitation Certification is warranted and granted. As her oeuvre continues to grow, Stormy Daniels could be an important part in the continued mainstreaming of adult entertainment. As long as she keeps improving, she will one day be the industry's preeminent porn star - both behind and in front of the lens.
