A rather popular performer lost her Twitter account recently and I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that it isn’t just Instagram that has rules – twitter does too.
But luckily they aren’t as bad as Instagram. But do you know what they are?
#1 Never post anything of a graphic or sexual nature in your Twitter avatar or header image. This includes a link to a pornographic website.
#2 Do not post videos or photos that include bodily fluids which include blood, urination, or semen. Yes, this means no posting the money shot. Yes, this is a real rule. Yes, I realize people have been violating it for years, but yes it is the reason more than a few very popular porn stars have lost their Twitter accounts lately.
#3 As Vixen learned the hard way, don’t post videos with music you don’t own the rights to in the background. It doesn’t matter what you can or can’t do on other platforms like TikTok — this is Twitter and the rules are simple, if you don’t own the rights to the music you will get your account permanently banned.
#4 and this one is not a new rule but recently there has been more enforcement. You need to go to your settings and mark your content as potentially being sensitive in nature. You can do this at twitter.com/settings/your_tweets.
Twitter isn’t saying you can’t post a picture or you sucking some guy’s cock but they do ask that you do mark your timeline as sensitive before doing so.
Listen, Twitter doesn’t give us many rules so just make sure that you follow the few that they do to keep your account safe.
In the meantime be sure and follow Fleshbot on Twitter @fleshbot.
