OnlyFans has 305 million subscribers, who, according to recent tax filings, spend about $6.6 billion on the platform. But why they spend their money may surprise you.
A new report from creator management platform Supercreator.app reveals that the majority of high-spending men on OnlyFans aren’t paying for explicit material—they’re paying for conversation.
According to the study, a striking 78% of chats between top spenders and OnlyFans creators are about non-sexual topics, ranging from pets and favorite TV shows to work frustrations and childhood memories. The findings highlight a growing trend: many men are turning to content creators for emotional support and personal attention, services they often don’t receive in their day-to-day relationships.
Over 7 million fans on Instagram follow Sophie Rain, who has also made a significant income on OnlyFans. She says this rings true with her experience. Her top fan, a married man named Charley, has reportedly spent over $6 million across two years without ever asking for explicit photos.
“We talk every single day, without fail,” Rain said. “Charley sends voice notes just to check on me. I’m more of an emotional support system for him than anything else.”
She added that what Charley finds most appealing is not lingerie or nudity, but seeing her “fully clothed and doing everyday tasks.”

I’ve been saying this for years, but it’s nice to see the numbers back up my claim.
“Nudity is easy to find online,” explained Supercreator.app CEO Yuval. “What’s rare—and valuable—is consistent, personalized attention. That’s what drives loyalty and revenue.”
This phenomenon, often called the “digital girlfriend experience”, has become a major driver of revenue in adult creator spaces. Supercreator.app reports that top models can earn up to $300,000 per month, not by sending explicit content, but by investing time in meaningful interactions with subscribers.
Babi Palomas, a Brazilian model, has charged up to $30,000 to serve as a “surrogate wife” for married men online. Her services include watching football games without complaint and being a consistent, supportive digital companion.
“Many of the men who are married and have families still feel lonely,” Babi Palomas said. “They want someone to share what they consider ‘masculine’ activities with, and I fill that space.”
The findings suggest a fundamental shift in the economics of online adult platforms, where emotional intimacy and daily interaction may be more profitable—and more in demand—than traditional sexual content.
We all know that men want to see a pretty girl. That’s nothing new. But now we know they also want something more. They want to feel like they are heard. They want someone to share their daily experiences with.
