Storerotica Announces 2022 Award Nominees

After being beset by COVID restrictions and unable to hold its annual in-person ceremony since 2019, Storerotica Magazine, the leading trade publication for adult retailers, will once again celebrate community excellence in the erotic retail industry with its 15th Annual SE Awards at the ANME Founders Show on July 12, 2022. This year’s ANME Founders Show will be held July 11-13 at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport in Southern California.

Returning once again to host the evening’s festivities will be ACS certified Sexologist and well-known industry personality, Sunny Rodgers.

“ANME is back! That means that our beloved STOREROTICA Awards are happening,” exclaims Rodgers. “I am incredibly thrilled and honored to host this year’s award show in person, and I would like to thank Kristofer Kay and the STOREROTICA team and Valerie Jones and her ANME team for this wonderful opportunity. I’m excited to see all my favorite people—that’s YOU my industry family—very soon. After a two-year hiatus, I know this will be our best STOREROTICA Awards show yet!”

For 15 years, the STOREROTICA Awards have revered those in both the brick and mortar storefront, distributing, and manufacturing levels. The 16 returning categories honored this year will include mainstays: Pleasure Product Company of the Year, Distributor of the Year, BDSM/Fetish Company of the Year, Boutique Brand of the Year, Lubricant Company of the Year, New Product of the Year, Foreign Manufacturer of the Year, Brand Ambassador of the Year, and two Retailer of the Year Awards (for independent and chain locations).

Two new categories have also been introduced this year: Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year. Weaving through this year’s awards will also be the announcement of two new inductees to the SE Hall of Fame.

Nominees for the 2022 SE Awards were gathered in part by pre-nomination voting via email ballot to both retailers and vendors. They are also, for all intents and purposes, “reader’s choice” awards, as they are meant to be voted on exclusively by the readers of SE Magazine.

“This new awards process will help us by receiving pre-nom and final voting tallies in almost real-time from a wider field of qualified recipients who work with these products and vendors in an almost daily capacity,” says Kristofer Kay, SE’s head of sales and marketing. “More than just an award show this year, the SE Awards represents a homecoming of sorts since we haven’t been able to honor our friends in person since before the pandemic. Each brand and storefront represents outstanding achievement within the adult retail community, and we are honored to be the publication that recognizes them.”

Just as we did with the pre-nom ballot, we will be emailing all SE readers currently in our database. The ballot will be sent on Monday, June 6th, and will be active until June 17.
