Former adult performer Phyllisha Anne was arrested in Texas on January 22, 2025, on federal charges of embezzlement and theft of labor union assets under Title 29, U.S. Code, Section 501(c).
The charges stem from a grand jury indictment issued in October 2024, which led to a warrant for her arrest on December 17, 2024. Federal authorities took Phyllisha Anne into custody at her residence in Texas and are expected to transfer her to California, where the case is based.
According to the indictment filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Phyllisha Anne, while serving as an officer of the International Entertainment Adult Union (IEAU), allegedly misappropriated $3,873.50 from the union between December 2019 and May 2021. The indictment accuses her of using an IEAU-linked debit card to cover personal expenses, violating federal labor laws designed to protect union funds.
The court documents state:
“The defendant, [Phyllisha Anne], unlawfully and willfully abstracted and converted to her own use money, funds, securities, property, and other assets of the IEAU by using a debit card linked to the IEAU’s bank account to pay for approximately $3,873.50 in personal expenses.”
If convicted, she faces up to five years in federal prison, substantial fines, and mandatory restitution. Her extensive criminal history, which includes nine prior arrests between 2006 and 2013, five of which were felonies, may influence sentencing.
Phyllisha Anne’s arrest follows a turbulent history within the adult industry labor movement. In 2020, members of the Adult Performers Actors Guild (APAG), a subgroup of IEAU, raised concerns about missing funds.
When APAG board members, including President Alana Evans, Ruby, and Kelly Pierce, agreed to cooperate with authorities regarding financial discrepancies, Phyllisha Anne attempted to dissolve the APAG union. She filed a termination request with the U.S. Department of Labor and publicly announced APAG’s closure, stating:
“At this moment, the International Entertainment Adult Union would like to announce the termination of our Adult Performers Actors Guild, APAG. The IEAU has officially filed and terminated APAG with the DOL, as well as filed a lawsuit under the Supreme Court against Alana Evans, Ruby, and Kelly Pierce to recover all of APAG’s assets totaling over $210,000.”
APAG members saw the move as an attempt to cover up financial misconduct. However, the APAG board resisted dissolution and worked with the California Department of Labor to legally separate from IEAU. By August 2023, APAG had fully severed ties with IEAU and officially rebranded as the Adult Performance Artists Guild, maintaining control over their union name and operations.
Following the split, Phyllisha Anne posted a public apology letter, acknowledging past mistakes and retracting allegations against APAG’s leadership:
“I would like to apologize to APAG Officers Alana Evans, Ruby, Kelly Pierce, Amber Lynn, Jorge Reano, and Trey, and to the entire membership of APAG. At no point did Alana, Ruby, Kelly, or any other member of APAG’s board misappropriate funds, nor did they ever steal any money or union assets from either IEAU or APAG.” — Phyllisha Anne
Despite the apology, the federal investigation continued, culminating in her indictment and recent arrest.
Under the leadership of Alana Evans, APAG has continued to operate independently. The organization now represents nearly 1,500 verified members, all active performers in the adult entertainment industry. Unlike traditional unions, APAG does not collect dues; instead, Evans has personally funded the organization for the past five years.
With Phyllisha Anne facing federal charges, her ability to hold any future leadership role in a labor organization is in jeopardy. Federal law prohibits individuals convicted of embezzlement from holding positions of trust within labor unions.
The case is expected to move forward in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where prosecutors will seek conviction under federal labor laws.
Phyllisha Anne began her career in the adult industry in 1997, starring in such movies as Dude, I just fucked your mom, Squirt City Sluts 3, and Toxxxic Cum Loads 4.
In 2015, she formed the IEAU, in which she told coworkers and friends as a way to get grant money from the government, promising other adult performers big payouts from the grants once they were secured. When this promise never came to fruition, most people stopped working with Phyllisha Anne.
Despite Phyllisha Anne’s mismanagement, the APAG union, which was initially a subsidiary of the International Entertainment Adult Union (IEAU) thrived.
APAG is the first federally recognized pornographic labor union in the United States. Its aims include industry-wide programs for healthcare, retirement savings, and better pay and rights for performers. APAG engages in negotiations with pornographic production companies, American lawmakers, and social media platforms.
This is a developing story; further updates will follow as court proceedings continue.
