PASS Debuts Studio Certification to Enhance Adult Industry Safety

NEWS & PRESS STRAIGHT

To enhance the safety and well-being of workers within the adult industry, PASS (Performer Availability Screening Services) has unveiled its Studio Certification Program. This initiative, aimed at streamlining the production process and fostering a safer working environment, was announced during a town hall at XBIZ Los Angeles last month. Leading the charge, industry giants Aylo and Gamma Films Group were among the first to pledge their support for this vital program.

The Studio Certification Program seeks to establish a unified standard for production safety by requiring participating studios to:

  • Follow the established PASS testing guidelines.
  • Adhere to production holds as necessary.
  • Keep contact information current with PASS and actively engage in semi-annual meetings and town halls.
  • Undergo orientation on testing guidance, verification processes, and production hold procedures.

Certified studios will be featured on the PASS website, distinguishing them as entities committed to the highest safety standards. Importantly, this program demands no financial investment from the studios, emphasizing its focus on health and safety rather than profit.

Ian O’Brien, Executive Director of PASS, underscored the program’s objectives: “The Studio Certification Program is designed to fortify communication and coordination regarding health and safety across the industry. We are setting a transparent standard of expectations and commitments. Essentially, we seek to formalize and publicize the already existing practices of conscientious studios, thereby fostering a culture of safety and accountability.”

Aylo and Gamma Films Group, two of the industry’s behemoths, have enthusiastically endorsed the initiative, recognizing its potential to create a more secure and professional environment for performers and producers alike.

An Aylo representative remarked on the company’s commitment to performer safety, stating, “Aylo is deeply committed to the health and safety of our performers. The PASS program aligns with our mission to provide a safe working environment and maintain the highest industry standards. We are honored to join forces with PASS in this crucial endeavor.”

Bree Mills, Chief Creative Officer at Adult Time under the Gamma Films Group umbrella, also expressed strong support: “At Gamma Films Group, ensuring the health and safety of our performers is paramount. The PASS certification symbolizes our dedication to responsible production practices and our support for an industry-wide health and safety framework. We are proud to stand with PASS in safeguarding our community.”

PASS, a non-profit organization steered by a volunteer board comprising industry and public health experts, offers guidance based on the latest insights from infectious disease and occupational health specialists.
