I’m so excited to announce that OnlyFans has added a long-awaited release form feature.  They have yet to officially announce it, but the feature is now live.

Basically, when you upload a new piece of content to your OnlyFans account that includes someone besides yourself, you must either tag them in the post or upload a signed release form.

So let’s say on my OnlyFans page, I want to upload a video featuring my friend Audrey Hollander. Before I even upload the video, I click release forms from the menu (to the left).

If she has an OnlyFans account, I can tag her in my post, and if I don’t know her OnlyFans page, I can use the search bar at the top. Or, at the bottom, I can select to upload a signed release form.

In this case, I know Audrey Hollander has an OnlyFans page, so I select tag user and search for her name. I select it from the list (as seen below).

Once I select her name, I can do two things, add to a new post (on my timeline) or add to a new message (DMs).

The send to post in a new tab is the same thing as adding to a new post in your timeline, it just opens the posting page in a new tab.

Keeping up with proper documentation on OnlyFans has been nothing short of a nightmare prior to the release of this new feature. I’m happy that they added it because it is important.

The law says that a person has to be over 18 to star in porn. And I agree with that law, but the only way to prove that is to keep up and provide the proper documentation.

I’m so happy that OnlyFans is providing this feature. It’s so important that you get proper documentation for every piece of content you shoot.

At this time, OnlyFans is not asking for a copy of your performer content checklist, only the ID and model release but do keep in mind in the future, this could become a legal issue as Visa has already expressed interest in seeing this documentation for problematic scenes, so it’s a good idea to keep up with that as well.

Although OnlyFans is not asking for your 2257 compliance document, just the ID, you want to ensure you have this filled out for every scene you do. If you do 23 scenes with a person, you need that form along with a copy of their ID 23 times. I know that doesn’t make much sense since a person doesn’t change birthdays every time you do a new scene, but that’s the law. You must have 2257 documents for every scene.

As far as IDs go, OnlyFans is asking for a picture of a person holding the ID and a copy of the ID itself. This has become pretty industry standard. This can be a passport, a state-issued ID card, or a driver’s license. It must be a photo ID. It must be a government-issued ID with a photo. This is a federal law, and there are no exceptions. No other form of ID counts when it comes to federal law.

OnlyFans is not asking for a secondary form of ID, although some platforms have. In fact, most mainstream producers require two forms of ID and three if the person is under 21. Better to be safe than sorry!

Now let’s talk model releases.

A model release form is a civil matter, not a federal regulation. A model release form is simply a document that says yes, I (the model) give you (the producer) permission to use my likeness in the content we are going to create today and that you (the producer) now own the right to the content and can do whatever you want with it. I (the model) was paid to star in this content and give up all ownership claims to it.

You must have a signed model release for every piece of content you produce. Like the ID, if you do 23 scenes with a person, you need 23 model releases. That’s 1 model release for every scene.

A standard model release which we’ve all been using for years and years, will no longer satisfy visa and MasterCard. They want to make sure that it includes a statement that basically says the person signing the release understands that the end product may end up on social media or platforms like OnlyFans and Pornhub — something like …

The Artist understands that the photographs and/or videos associated with this Project will be available on social media as well as online platforms such as OnlyFans.com, xvideos.com, ManyVids, and Pornhub.com.

So if you have a model release that you like to use, make sure you have that clause in there, or something similar to it.
