Alexis Tae had a situation on a recent Kink.com set. For days other adult performers spoke out in support of the young starlet, letting Kink know they aren’t okay with abusive on-set behavior.
Many in the industry united to say this is not okay. This will never be okay. And they are right. That it took so many people coming out publically against the company and specifically the director, bothers me. But what broke my heart the most was this series of tweets by Alexis Tae. Because she’s not wrong.
The girls in our industry deserve better than this. Not only do we owe them our respect while on set, but at the very least we should listen to them. This is not okay. This will never be okay.
Kink.com has now made an official statement, which I will include for you below.
Like many of you, we were concerned by the accounts of a shoot which was produced on Tuesday of last week by Clarion Alley, one of our largest content partners.
It is apparent that a performer was kept suspended in bondage several minutes after they requested release, ostensibly to finish a shot, and potentially risking injury. There is an ongoing review of what happened that night, including review of all footage and interviews with all staff.
Without having completed our review, we can already say there were a number of unacceptable things that happened in the shoot, and for this we are deeply sorry.
As a result of this, the head of production has been let go, and Kink.com will not be working with the director of the shoot going forward.
Kink.com takes responsibility for all content that is released on, or produced for, its site regardless of who it is produced by.
We understand that as a company, we would not exist were it not for the relationships and trust we maintain with our models. We do not take safety violations lightly, and our models are our number one priority. We are taking steps to ensure this doesn’t happen ever again.
As part of these measures we are bringing in John Paul “The Pope” to review/audit everything we are doing in production from top to bottom.
The Pope is a long standing Kink.com director who still shoots content for the sites and is widely known for being the gold standard in model safety and consent practices.
Without the trust of our models, we do not have the ability to continue forward as the company that we strive to be.
Representatives for Kink.com are in contact with the model to rectify this situation.
The director in question was Lydia Black, who has released her own statement of sorts, on her Twitter page, in what she calls an open letter to Alexis Tae. It’s not always easy to stand up for yourself but when girls like Alexis Tae do just that, they truly do make a difference for every other performer in the industry who may not be in a position to speak up and defend her rights.
Alexis Tae and Avery Jane have been making reference on Twitter to an incident (or a series of incidents) that happened in and out of set in connection with two Kink.com projects.
I did not immediately respond for a number of reasons detailed below. In such situations, silence and/or lack of response can often seem incriminating, or disrespectful at best. I am sorry for not publicly singling myself out earlier and justifying my train of thoughts and my actions. I care immensely about this industry but most importantly its community and people, performers, and it’s honestly everything I live for. It has been tedious to stay grounded and think straight with all this quick and dense hate towards everything I am and do. The hardest part has been reading about how Alexis was feeling and discovering how hurt and triggered I had made her feel, and being the recipient of all her anger and hate. I have performed in many shoots over the last seven years, and I have suffered from other people’s inexperience and incompetence myself. My main priority was to ensure that aspect, and regardless of what I say below, if
Alexis felt as bad and unsafe as she has been saying online, it means I have failed her in the first place, and I am sorry beyond words. I don’t know how to move forward with myself and every of her tweet has been crippling me with sadness and anxiety for the last few days. Some of the people I look up to have cancelled me already, and others are calling me out publicly.
Please join me in support of Alexis Tae and all other performers like her who have had the courage to stand strong against on-set abuses and predatory behavior.
