HUSTLER®50: 50 Years of Freedom, a visually striking and editorially rich retrospective, officially launches today, celebrating five decades of HUSTLER Magazine’s bold legacy in publishing, free speech, and cultural disruption.
The 208-page full-color hardcover, published by Radius Book Group, is written by Liz Flynt with a foreword by actor and longtime HUSTLER supporter Woody Harrelson.
The book traces the rise of HUSTLER Magazine from its founding in 1974 by Larry Flynt to its role as a lightning rod for debates on censorship, morality, satire, and sexual expression. Designed as both a historical archive and cultural critique, HUSTLER®50 features a curated selection of the magazine’s most iconic covers, editorial cartoons, photo spreads, and provocative essays spanning five decades.
“This book is a celebration of everything HUSTLER has stood for over the last 50 years—free expression, provocation with purpose, and refusing to back down from uncomfortable truths,” said Liz Flynt, Chairwoman of the HUSTLER brand and the book’s author.
Beyond its visual impact, HUSTLER®50 revisits pivotal moments in American legal history, including the landmark Flynt v. Falwell Supreme Court case that reshaped First Amendment law. It explores how the magazine repeatedly tested—and redefined—cultural norms around race, gender, politics, and sexual identity.
Featured throughout the volume are notable public figures who engaged with or were profiled in HUSTLER, including President Jimmy Carter, Gore Vidal, Grace Jones, Oliver Stone, Kathy Griffin, and Seth MacFarlane, among others. Photography from Dennis Hopper and appearances by adult industry icons like Jenna Jameson, Stormy Daniels, and Tera Patrick further highlight the magazine’s unique place in media and counterculture.
Liz Flynt will promote HUSTLER®50 through a national book tour featuring special guests and in-person conversations:
In conversation with comedian, Kathy Griffin
With special guest, Larry Flynt Jr.

HUSTLER®50: 50 Years of Freedom is available now for $37.99 at all major booksellers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and all HUSTLER Hollywood locations.
The release marks a rare, comprehensive reflection on an adult publication that has shaped American legal precedent and countercultural dialogue for half a century, remaining as defiant, unfiltered, and culturally relevant in 2025 as it was in 1974.
