Another person who works for Girls Do Porn is going to jail. This time it’s the videographer. Last week he was sentenced to four years.
Theodore Wilfred Gyi, 44, pleaded guilty to a federal count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking for his role in the website’s operations.
“To help convince them that the sex videos would not be posted on the internet, Gyi told some that he believed on-line pornography was ‘cheap,’ ” reads, in part, a news release issued Wednesday by prosecutors.
Some of the victims say they were sexually assaulted and physically prevented by the defendants from leaving the San Diego hotel rooms and short-term rentals where the videos were filmed.
Porn actor and producer Ruben Andre Garcia was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison, and two others have pleaded guilty and await sentencing next year.
The website and its operators were sued by 22 women featured in its videos, and a San Diego judge awarded the women nearly $13 million at the end of a civil trial.
Six of the women whose videos were posted online spoke at Gyi’s sentencing, and each said Gyi assured them their videos would not be seen on the internet but soon discovered they had been lied to.
The FBI is still looking for 38-year-old Michael James Pratt, co-owner and operator of the pornography production company and online websites named GirlsDoPorn and GirlsDoToys, and has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to his arrest.
He faces a litany of felony charges, including sex trafficking by force and the production of child pornography. He was recently placed on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List. Anyone with information about Pratt’s whereabouts is asked to contact federal authorities at 800-CALL-FBI or online.
