Fansly (an Onlyfans like platform) has released updated Terms of Service and compliance guidelines set to take effect on June 28, 2025. The changes include clearer provisions around age restrictions, content regulation, and platform responsibilities.
I compared their previous TOS, which was last updated on May 2, 2025, to their revised version and found the following changes.
Fansly has clarified and expanded prohibited content categories:
Explicit mention of banning:
The wording of this particular rule essentially states that there can be no fully automated AI chats. They are not saying no AI chats just you need to have a human in the mix.
“post, upload, or share content that enables users to directly, without a human in the loop, interact with open ended AI conversational tools or AI image generation systems.”
Added language prohibiting the promotion of dangerous challenges or stunts.
Clearer stance against misleading thumbnails or bait-and-switch content used to deceive Fans into purchases.
Taking a strong stance on public nudity. Previously, one of their rules stated: Record or broadcast nudity or sexual activity from any public place where members of the public are reasonably likely to see your User Content.
It now states:
A major new rule now prohibits posting any adult content that features the consumption or presence of alcohol. This is an expansion from the previous rules, which focused on illegal drugs.
“post, upload, or share any adult content featuring the consumption or presence of alcohol.”
(xi) illegal or illicit drugs; (xii) alcohol, cannabis/marijuana, or substances commonly recognized as impairing capacity to consent (including but not limited to sedatives, hypnotics, or other psychoactive substances), regardless of local legality; (xiii) suicide or self-harm; (xiv) any other illegal behavior or behavior that may be considered obscene under applicable law.
Change: Creators must now submit proof of age and consent from co-authors in advance, before content is published, not just upon request.
Implication: Failure to submit pre-verification may result in the content being blocked or the account being suspended.
These changes suggest Fansly is taking a more conservative approach to content moderation, likely in response to payment processor requirements and possibly regulatory concerns.
All users of the Fansly platform are encouraged to review the full Terms of Service before the June 28 effective date to ensure continued compliance. Content creators and subscribers are reminded that violating the platform’s terms may result in removal from the platform and potential legal consequences.
