Just when you thought the Astronmer CEO story couldn’t get any better!

The scandal surrounding former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has deepened with the emergence of new allegations linking him to an OnlyFans content creator in a controversy that has quickly eclipsed the so-called “ColdplayGate” affair that began earlier this month.

According to screenshots purportedly leaked by Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan, the former tech executive allegedly used a private messaging platform under a pseudonym to spend tens of thousands of dollars — reportedly up to $40,000 — on explicit interactions with Sophie Rain, a prominent OnlyFans model and social media personality affiliated with influencer collective Bop House.

One of the alleged exchanges shows Byron telling Rain, “All good. Most guys I talk to are married,” to which Sophie Rain seemingly replied, “Okay, call me in 5 mins 😉.”

These revelations come days after Byron stepped down from his role at Astronomer, a data analytics company based in Ohio, following widespread backlash over a viral kiss-cam video that appeared to show him in an intimate moment with Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert. Both executives were married to other people at the time.

Public reaction to the Byron-Rain connection has been swift and unrelenting. Hashtags including #ColdplayGate, #OnlyFired, and #SophieRain are trending across X, TikTok, and Instagram. Memes have flooded the internet, mocking Byron’s downfall and speculating about whether company funds were misused, though there is no evidence yet to suggest misuse of corporate money.

“Bro cashed in his 401(k) for feet pics,” one viral post read, while another quipped, “OnlyFans? More like OnlyFired.”

Astronomer has not yet issued a new statement addressing the latest revelations, but sources close to the company confirmed the board was unaware of Byron’s alleged spending until the leaked messages surfaced online.

Sophie Rain issued a brief statement distancing herself from the personal aspects of the scandal while extending sympathy to Byron’s wife.

“I cannot comment on who my clients and donors are, but this situation is crazy as it is,” Rain told The Blast. “As a Christian, I don’t condone this type of behavior. If she [Byron’s wife] has any issues during this time of uncertainty, she can reach out to me.”

Rain, who has more than 4.6 million followers on TikTok and a sizable presence on subscription platforms, added, “Cheaters are the worst people on this planet. I applaud Chris Martin for integrating this into his show,” referencing Coldplay’s recent tour where the original kiss-cam footage was captured.

Andy Byron’s departure from Astronomer was formally announced following the Coldplay concert incident. In a statement released internally and later shared publicly, the company confirmed the resignation and reaffirmed its values:

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”

Pete DeJoy, cofounder and Chief Product Officer, is now serving as interim CEO while the board searches for permanent leadership.

Meanwhile, Megan Kerrigan, Byron’s wife of more than a decade, has remained out of the public eye. Sources told The Daily Mail she has retreated to the couple’s summer estate in Kennebunk, Maine, where close family, including her sister, are reportedly supporting her.

While no formal legal filings have been made public, speculation about the future of the couple’s relationship continues to circulate amid the mounting tabloid and social media attention.
