Controversial “influencer” Amouranth is making some big moves, of which she teased last week on X.
Amouranth is making a triumphant return to Twitch, following a wildly lucrative two-year stint on rival platform Kick that reportedly earned her $38 million.
She announced her return in trademark cinematic style with a now-removed teaser video posted to X, showing her refueling at a gas station before her green Kick-branded car shifts dramatically to Twitch’s signature purple, punctuated by the on-screen phrase: “$38 million later.”
The move marks a full-circle moment for one of the internet’s most recognizable creators, known as much for her savvy business acumen as her provocative content. Her Twitch comeback is set for June 20, though it’s unclear whether she has signed an exclusive deal or plans to multistream across platforms.
Amouranth joined Kick in 2023 during a wave of high-profile creator acquisitions, including xQc’s headline-grabbing $100 million deal. While her contract details were never made public, Amouranth confirmed in interviews that the Kick partnership more than doubled her income, which, based on the numbers, translates to roughly $19 million per year.
Kick.com is a rapidly growing live streaming platform that launched in late 2022, aiming to compete directly with Twitch by offering significantly more favorable terms to creators. Funded in part by the founders of crypto gambling site Stake.com, Kick initially served as a haven for gambling streamers banned or restricted on other platforms.
Kick, a platform that offered fewer content restrictions and higher revenue shares, became a temporary home for Amouranth’s high-octane streams and unfiltered persona. But Twitch remains the industry’s dominant force in reach and cultural impact, making her return as much a strategic move as a symbolic one.
Amouranth’s comeback underscores the ongoing power struggle in the streaming industry, where platforms like Kick and YouTube have attempted to lure top talent away from Twitch with aggressive deals. But visibility, community, and global influence still reside with Twitch, and for a creator of Amouranth’s scale, that reach matters.
Whether she sticks solely with Twitch or streams on multiple platforms remains to be seen. Kick recently shifted away from exclusivity deals, signaling a more open approach that could allow Amouranth to dictate her own terms.
Don’t expect to see Amouranth on YouTube. The platform permanently banned her main channel over policy violations related to adult content, a move she has not forgotten. Since then, she has leveraged platforms that enable broader monetization and fewer restrictions, including OnlyFans and fan-subscription businesses, while launching novelty products and expanding her brand empire.
Amouranth’s return to Twitch is not a retreat; it’s a repositioning. With millions in the bank, a loyal fanbase, and complete control over her brand, she remains one of the most formidable digital entrepreneurs of her generation.
