AI Girlfriend Service Featuring Multiple Porn Stars Disrupted After CEO’s Arrest for Arson and Terroristic Threats

LEGAL NEWS STRAIGHT

Thousands of users have been left without access to their AI virtual girlfriends following the shutdown of Forever Companion, also known as Forever Voices and CarynAI.

The AI company, known for its celebrity, porn star, and influencer chatbots, went offline on October 23. The abrupt service interruption came after the arrest of the company’s founder and CEO, John Meyer, for charges of arson and terroristic threats.

Although they initially went viral for Caryn AI, they would go on to sign up several porn stars to use the service as well, where fans could sign on to chat with an AI version of their favorite star. Some of his porn star clients include Amouranth, Rachel Starr, Adriana Chechik, Melissa Stratton, and more.

John Meyer, the CEO of Forever Companion, was reportedly arrested in October for setting boxes on fire on his apartment’s balcony in downtown Austin, Texas. Local news outlet KXAN reported the incident, which led to Meyer being charged and his bond set at $120,000.

Prior to the arrest, the Forever Companion Twitter account had been posting bizarre conspiracy theories involving the FBI, former President Donald Trump, and “rogue CIA terrorists.”

Forever Companion gained attention earlier this year for its launch of various AI “virtual girlfriend” chatbots on Telegram, including ones modeled after influencers and adult stars. One notable chatbot was based on Snapchat influencer Caryn Marjorie, 23, who charged $1 per minute for conversations. However, following Meyer’s arrest, users have been unable to access CarynAI and other chatbots.

The service, initially designed to “satisfy” fans and “cure loneliness,” faced backlash for enabling erotic conversations with the chatbots. Caryn Marjorie stated in June that such interactions were not intended despite the service being restricted to users 18 and older. On October 30, Marjorie announced a shift to a new service, BanterAI, in light of the recent events.

The future of Forever Companion remains uncertain. The company’s abrupt shutdown has left many wondering if it will resume operations. In the meantime, the market has seen similar initiatives like Riley Reid’s Clona.ai, offering comparable AI companion experiences.

As of December 3rd, it appears the CEO of Forever Companion AI, John Meyer, has been released from custody and tweeted an apology of sorts.

Since his release, he’s tweeted a series of politically charged and non-sensical tweets. It’s unclear at this time if any of his former porn star AI companion services remain online.
