ÆON FORTY EIGHT LLC to Support Suicide Prevention Awareness Week & AIDS Walk LA Fundraising Efforts

PRESS RELEASE STRAIGHT

HUNTINGTON BEACH CA, SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 – Orange County-based marketing tech startup ÆON Forty Eight LLC today announced a commitment to support Suicide Prevention Awareness Week and AIDS Walk LA by sponsoring co-founder/chair Daniel-Leslie Metcalf’s participation in concurrent fundraisers. ÆON48 is a progressive marketing collective founded on principles of Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance and powered by the æternity blockchain, an Erlang-based scalable smart contract platform.

“This is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Week, and the nonprofit To Write Love On Her Arms is seeking to raise $250,000 by September 10th – World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day – to help fund counseling sessions and connect those most at risk to local resources,” said Metcalf. “We invite everyone to donate as they can to our personal fundraising page,” they continued. “Every donation equivalent to $25 USD or greater will receive a complimentary marketing consultation integrating æquariusWorks, our proprietary æternity blockchain-based app. This virtual consultation can also include one legacy PR action, such as a press release, provided gratis. While we have been in the blockchain space for less than a decade, we have over twenty years of relevant adult industry PR experience, with a decade in adult journalism prior to that.” With a smile, they added, “and we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that you can make your donation in cryptocurrency – even Dogecoin!” For 2021, they are on Team TWLOHA. To donate, visit their personal page here.  The theme for this year’s funding drive is Another Day With You.

Concurrently with the TWLOHA project, Metcalf is fundraising for AIDS Walk Los Angeles. “Wicked Sensual Care’s brand strategist and resident sex educator, jessica drake, has championed this cause for many years, and the groups she’s captained have raised well over $150,000 to sustain AIDS Project Los Angeles as well as other HIV/AIDS health and support organizations. We consider it an honor to once again serve Team Wicked in support of this cause, and as with our TWLOHA initiative, every donation to our personal page equivalent to $25 USD or more will receive the complimentary ÆON48 marketing consultation. While To Write Love On Her Arms’ fundraiser ends this weekend, this year’s deadline to turn in funds for AIDS Walk LA isn’t until the first week of November, so there are ample opportunities to give.” Team Wicked’s page is here; go here to donate to Metcalf’s personal fundraising page.

“Values – Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance – dictate our mission,” Metcalf said of ÆON Forty Eight’s support in sponsoring their fundraising efforts. “Once you have the right set of values, they become the vehicle through which you make your decisions. So, in dealing with any decision you don’t know the answer to, reflecting on those values – and knowing why you believe in them – ultimately becomes the tool for determining the right path forward.”

ABOUT AIDS WALK LOS ANGELES
The world’s first AIDS Walk was developed by Craig R. Miller in 1984, during the height of the AIDS epidemic. Seeing the need for immediate action in response to this public-health emergency, Miller sought to fill the void left by the government’s negligible response to the crisis.

Drawing on his experience as a political and community organizer, Miller’s approach combined grassroots activism with fundraising and other campaign strategies to raise both awareness and urgently needed funds for the fight against AIDS. Miller brought his idea to the fledgling AIDS service organization, AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA), who hired the young activist to produce this new event. Miller and APLA expected to draw a crowd of 1,000 supporters and raise $100,000 for this very first AIDS Walk. On July 28, 1985, in Los Angeles, 4,500 courageous and visionary people assembled at Paramount Studios and raised an astonishing $673,000.

Since 1985, AIDS Walk Los Angeles has drawn over a half-million participants who have collectively raised more than $72 million for APLA. The event serves as a model of grassroots fundraising and community activism for organizations across the United States. For more information, visit http://www.aidswalk.net/.
