Adult Star Ebony Mystique Stands with PASS on Talent Testing & STD Awareness

NEWS & PRESS STRAIGHT

Ebony Mystique, one of the top adult stars in the industry, is flexing her registered nurse muscles to educate the public on the best ways to prevent the spread of all STDs by dropping her medical knowledge with PASS in the hopes of making positive changes to the way tests are managed for both performers and civilians alike.

Adult Star Ebony Mystique Stands with PASS on Talent Testing & STD Awareness

It all came to the surface for the award-winning and 2023 award-nominated bright beauty when she found out she had contracted gonorrhea from another performer on set earlier this month and felt detection could have happened earlier while the strain was dormant if popular testing centers such as Talent Testing and Cutting Edge swabbed orally and anally instead of testing through blood and urine only.

“There should be no performing until rectal and oral swabbing is part of the normal testing routine,” says Ebony. “It’s the adult companies and agents’ interest in the health and safety of their performers, or the industry will eventually be closed down by the government. “

And now, starting on January 1, 2023, PASS will include oral and rectal swabs for chlamydia and gonorrhea as part of the standard panel to be cleared for work.

“It’s has been amazing to watch the community organize and demand the inclusion of extragenital swabbing as industry standard over the past several weeks. This has been a long, necessary change, but until recently we lacked the support to make it happen,” says Ian O’Brien PASS Executive Director. “It is also important to note that while this is an incredible step, we still face significant challenges to access in terms of location and cost. I am optimistic that we can use this momentum to keep building towards systems that are able to protect everyone’s health and safety.”

PASS industry talent board members agree whole-heartedly with the followings statements:

“Currently we are all facing times where we have to do everything we can to keep not only ourselves, but our fellow co-workers’ health in top priority. Going forward I pledge to get a full panel test with both oral and rectal swabs added every two weeks and to only work with other performers who have also done so,” says Lydia Black.

“I will also offer to pay for the additional testing of my scene partners. I have personally been affected by the fact that we are not all swabbing. I support both rectal and oral swabs being added to the industry standard tests. I am dedicated to helping PASS solve the issues we are currently facing. Together we will get accurate and affordable testing for everyone!”

“Over the 20 years I’ve spent full-time in the adult industry performing and directing every type of scene under the sun; you could say I’ve seen it all. It does not matter how you identify or what your sexual orientation is,” says Madeline Marlow.

“Sex is messy, which is part of the fun. Fluids have no shame no matter where they come from and can end up anywhere. That’s why swabbing is for everybody! Do not let anyone tell you any different. I’ve seen it all; the fact is that swabbing is necessary across the board. So, let’s keep our community safe and get back to being sexy and safe on set!”

“We really need producers, agents and companies to be paying attention to PASS, and to care about our safety and well-being on set as a priority,” says Summer Hart.

“It benefits them too as performers are better on sets where they are confident and comfortable and relaxed and not worried that they have to check behind every crew member and double verify so they won’t get sick. It also keeps us working on the rosters and makes it easier for them to find talent.”

“It is my duty as a performer to keep myself & the others in the talent pool safe. With that being said, going forward, I will require all talent I work with, content trade and mainstream, to be swabbed. There is information that has been updated on the PASS website as to why this needs to be a part of the official industry standard. Oral and anal swabs are imperative for our health and to ensure we are getting the most accurate tests,” says Kaila Eve.

“I hear from performers frequently about the rise of testing costs and I understand the performers who may need financial assistance in any way, especially during this time and I am dedicated to help figuring out these very important issues for the long term, for the industry and most importantly, for us, the performers. Additionally, I will be offering to pay for my testing partners swabbing if they are unable to pay it themselves for any future content collaborations. I am here for the performers in this industry, and I stand in solidarity with my fellow performers and I ask that agents and production companies please do the same. “

Ebony concludes, “This is important for anyone who is having sex, not only the professionals, sex workers, and porn stars but for anyone sexually active, civilians included, and as always when it comes to sex these days, it’s up to us to take responsibility and set a good example. The world is watching, let’s do better.”
