Male performer Oliver Flynn was sentenced to 18 months’ probation after pleading guilty to assaulting performer Maddy May during an August 15 domestic violence incident at her home near Denver.

32-year-old Oliver Flynn admitted guilt to a charge of third-degree assault in an act of domestic violence. Under the sentence handed down in Douglas County Court, he must undergo a domestic violence evaluation and comply with any recommended counseling or treatment. His probation will be transferred to Michigan, where he resides.

“I would like to be far away from this,” Flynn told the judge, adding that he intended to move back to his father’s farm. “I’m sorry that the court has had to deal with this.”

According to Maddy May, the altercation began when Flynn went on a verbal outburst that left her “terrified.” She locked herself in her bedroom, but Flynn punched through the door, forcing it open and slamming it into her side. She sustained bruises to her legs.

Six officers responded to her home around 12:30 p.m. May said she fled outside to call police and waited with a concerned neighbor until Flynn was arrested.

“This helped me stop living in terror,” May said in a statement after sentencing. “Enduring all of the abuse I did over the last eight months really took a toll on me. Calling the cops and hearing him say ‘I’m guilty’ helped me stop living in fear. I’m happier. I’m healing.”

Maddy May, a two-time AVN Female Performer of the Year nominee who left the adult industry earlier this year to pursue professional boxing, said she was relieved the case had concluded.

“The amount of support I’ve had from friends created the safety I begged him to give me for months,” she said. “To the man who decided I was worth hurting, I hope you get the help you need & the karma you deserve. And to all the ladies, standing up for yourself is strong.”

In Colorado, third-degree assault is a Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by up to 364 days in jail and fines of up to $1,000. Because Oliver Flynn’s case was designated domestic violence, his probation includes mandatory counseling and monitoring conditions.

Critics of the sentence said probation was too lenient. Flynn offered no direct apology to May in court; instead, he apologized, saying, “I’m sorry the court has to deal with this.”  Not “I’m sorry to the people I’ve hurt”.

That statement speaks volumes about his accountability for his actions.

Oliver Flynn, who also worked in gay pornography under the name “Timothy,” has not worked in the adult industry in over a year.

Maddy May has said he previously expressed ambitions to pursue a political career, a move she opposed. In recent months, he has posted extensively about right-wing politics on social media (@OliverFlynnVIP).

While some expect him to return to the adult industry for financial reasons, others warn performers to avoid working with him, cautioning that this isn’t his first problem and likely won’t be his last.
