Her death was first announced by longtime friend and former roommate Tom Byron, who shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook.

“The legendary Jeanna Fine has left the building,” Byron wrote. “We were roommates back in 1990–91… We would throw these crazy parties that would sometimes last two or three days. Our neighbors didn’t appreciate it much — except Elvira, who actually came to a couple of our shindigs.”

Byron remembered Fine as a vivacious and charismatic presence both on and off set.

“Jeanna was great to go clubbing with. She knew every club owner and bouncer in Hollywood, so we were VIP all the time and never had to wait in line,” he recalled.

“Eventually the lifestyle became a little too much for me, and I moved away. But I have an abundance of awesome memories and was happy when Jeanna found some peace later in life and raised a family. So long, toots. Thanks for letting me be a part of your crazy life.”

Born and raised in upstate New York, Fine entered the adult industry in 1986 in her early twenties. She quickly became a standout for her striking looks, bold performances, and uninhibited on-screen energy.

Her early appearances in films such as Steal Breeze, Hothouse Rose, and Brandy and Alexander established her reputation, while later works, including Skin Hunger, My Surrender, and Café Flesh 2, cemented her status as one of the most compelling performers of her era.

Jeanna Fine was also praised for her supporting roles in “Dear Diary,” opposite Steven St. Croix and Jordan St. James, and “Miscreants,” in which she shared the screen with Tiffany Mynx and Stephanie Swift. Among fans, her scene with Nici Sterling in Double Cross, featuring a double-headed dildo, remains one of her most memorable.

Over her career, Fine received numerous industry nominations and awards for both acting and performance.

Tributes poured in from industry peers following news of her passing. Veteran makeup artist Alan C. Bosshardt wrote, “Jeanna was one of my favorites. I was her makeup artist on so many productions and did her makeup for her wedding. Whenever we worked in San Francisco, she would drag me out clubbing with her.”

Former club employee Sonny Chase remembered her professionalism and warmth: “Jeanna was always the coolest, chillest, nicest main attraction I ever dealt with. It was a night off when she was there. Much love.”

In later years, she left Los Angeles and returned to New York to care for her ailing mother and raise her son, Braxton.

In addition to her adult film career, Jeanna Fine appeared in a small role as a dancer in the 1999 cult film The Boondock Saints. Though she largely stepped out of the public eye in the years that followed, her legacy remained strong among fans who admired her fierce independence and authenticity.

Jeanna Fine’s final years were spent quietly with family. Her last known social media activity was nearly a decade ago, but those who knew her say she always appreciated the fans who continued to reach out.

Her cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
