If there is a performer who deserves the Gloria Gaynor anthem "I Will Survive" to be reflected on oneself, it is fitting that this song describes Alana Evans to the tee. This outspoken woman whose Hall of Fame career has spanned 18 years continues to thrive through bumps in the road. Recently, at the 2015 AVN Awards in Las Vegas, Alana's past lover Kurt Lockwood and her husband Chris Evans had an altercation which has resulted in a back and forth public accusation battle between Alana and Kurt. I am grateful that Alana has opened up to me to tell her side of the story. After reading this interview, you will find out that her outspokenness will never be silent and that we can look forward to more performances from her.

Hi Alana, congratulations on being inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame. It is a much deserved honor. How do you feel about this achievement? I guess the XRCO's are the next goal?

I am so pleased to be honored by AVN and inducted into their hall of fame. It's fair to say I've been campaigning for that slot for the last couple of years. Not only because of my work in front of the camera and behind the camera, but I feel that my Hall of Fame induction was important because of who I am all around. I've managed to survive this industry for 18 years, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. While I may be outspoken, and an activist for women in our industry, my love for our industry has turned me into a lifer. While some people jump into our industry for a short spell, I feel that I will always be here. I am thankful that AVN gave me this honor first, because I've actually had people within other organizations try to tell me I don't deserve it.

How long have you been in the industry?

I joined the adult industry in 1998. My first scene was March 24, and it was for REEL SEX Magazine 11, with Mr. Marcus. Since then, I have appeared in over 1000 scenes. Some on VHS and DVD, while the others were for numerous Internet websites.

I have always admired your outspokenness and being an advocate for telling the truth. How did you acquire this trait for being so honest?

Thank you. Not everyone appreciates my honesty, however I have to stay true to myself. I was raised that things should be fair, so it's difficult for me when I see others become a victim. I've been through many things in my life and I consider myself a survivor. I've always said that I can handle the world on my shoulders, so I have no problem stepping in to protect those who cannot protect themselves. I've also learned that most people who don't appreciate this trait, it's because they're usually in the wrong.

The AVN Expo has ended. What does all of the recognition that you receive from your fans mean to you?

My fans have been a solid force behind me since the beginning of my career. I always enjoy seeing them. I have many fans who became friends, and those are the relationships I treasure the most. We'll have dinner, hang out, and generally enjoy each other's company.

What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy?

We all know how much I love women. I prefer girls who are naturally beautiful. Sure, I love big boobs and a great ass, but I also love a pretty smile and a tender soul. When a woman has confidence, you can't take her sexy away.

What traits of a man do you admire most? What makes a man sexy?

I love a strong man. Give me a guy who is tall, built, with a charming smile, and I melt. I also need a man who can handle me in the bedroom, so those skills are a definite must. Sure, sometimes I like taking the control, but I need a man who can control me.

What was the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry when you started?

The industry has been filled with many surprises since day one. I've always been open sexually, so being in front of the camera having sex came naturally to me. What surprised me is the relationships and love that I could find within the industry. It's not easy being with an adult actor or actress, because of those private things we share. I feel lucky that in the current times, I have been accepted by the media as a strong mother and advocate. I've appeared on CNN and Headline News more than other adult stars in our business, all because I can perfectly juggle being a porn star and a mother.

Why does Kurt Lockwood have so much anger for you and your man?

Now this is the question everyone really wants answered. I have a long history with Kurt, that spans to the beginning of his career. While he may not share this side because it's easier for him to insult me, Kurt and I have had a romantic relationship outside of porn. My husband and I can be considered swingers, but we have more of a polyamorous relationship. While we have included many men and women as third wheels in our relationship, Kurt is the only one I've ever had this kind of issue with. I have loved many men throughout my life, and sometimes those relationships don't end well. We were involved romantically before Kurt left the country years ago. He would come to my house, have sex with me, and my husband would be in the other room. We faded off, and I got pregnant after a scene. He shares ridiculous details, but it was an accident. I was on the pill, I got very sick from food poisoning and had to take numerous cycles of antibiotics. This caused my pills not to work, and I became pregnant. This is the only time I ever got pregnant during a scene. I didn't tell Kurt because of our romantic relationship, and I terminated the pregnancy. When he found out that I ended the pregnancy, he was very angry with me, and I understand that. It was very public, and very messy way back then.

After many years, we rekindled our relationship during the Heaven and Hell Halloween party in October, 2013. Because of our past, things heated up very quickly, all because my husband allowed it. Kurt let me know he was angry about the abortion, and told me if I hadn't done that, we would've had a six-year-old child. I didn't realize it had affected him like this, and it was tough. Kurt started telling me that we should have become a family and lived our life together. That was pretty overwhelming. We picked up our relationship again at this time, and it was fine. I would go visit him where he was staying, he and Chris would text each other, and everything was fine, until Kurt wanted me to himself. We talked about having a child, and being together. I was confused, because of my feelings for Kurt, but in the end, knew I would never leave my husband. Chris and I may invite people into our relationship, but my heart is with my husband. Immediately after we ended our relationship, Kurt became angry and vengeful. We attend the 2014 Xbiz awards, just a month after we ended, and Kurt tried to fight Chris there. He threatened to kill him via texts. We left and avoided all events, until the 2015 AVN Awards. I thought Kurt was over me, but clearly not.

I think that the rise in both the Milf and parody genres has allowed more people to be aware of your very good acting skills. Would you agree with me and if so, then why?

I definitely agree with you. I have become the "go to mom" for top acting roles. Playing as Mrs. Brady in the Not the Brady XXX parodies really launched my career as a MILF. Will Ryder and Scott David helped me establish myself as a strong actress in this business. I will always be thankful to those two men for everything they have done for me.

More recently, I played the mom in ET XXX for DreamZone, and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the third time in my career. Jim Powers directed the film, and he has always been one of my favorite people to work with.

I admire that you are also very influential in the gaming industry? How did you become fascinated with gaming?

I have been playing video games since I was a child. I have always been obsessed with technology and gaming. I had an Atari as my first system, so my roots run very deep.

Girls are big gamers. Why do you think that they have become a huge part to the growing success of gaming?

Girls always love to do what boys do. I was a tomboy as a child, and I know many other girls were exactly the same. In any industry that is competitive, you will always find women who can hang with the guys! Gaming is a huge stress relief and a great hobby. For me, it's an obsession.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Gaming tops my list, but I love cosplaying, sewing, cooking, and being outdoors. I love music as well and I enjoying playing the guitar.

Another talent that I highly respect is your singing. Your singles "Make You Love Me" and "Perfect" are amazing. Why is songwriting so fulfilling?

I've been writing songs since I was 12 years old LOL. I've always loved to sing, and it's been a big passion in my life. I never expected that my journey into the adult industry would actually give me the ability to fulfill my dreams as a singer. I love to write, and I enjoy sharing my feelings, so music just makes sense. Working with Lords Of Acid changed my life.

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

My favorite thing about being an adult performer is getting paid to do what I love. I'm a very sexual person, and I enjoy performing. Having those two things mixed as one is incredibly awesome. I have met so many amazing people, I've traveled the world, and I've done things that I thought I could've only dreamed of.

Are there any web sites or future projects that you would like to promote? What are you currently working on film wise?

I have some very sexy films coming from Mile High Media that I am very excited about. Now that I am a Hall of Famer, I am focusing this year on filming more, and reminding my fans why I am such a dirty girl. Taking a break off from filming these last couple of years, to focus on other endeavors, has really given me a boost to return to filming! I actually fantasize about some of the crazy sex I used to have, and it's time to get some action!
