Courtney Page interview

In 2011, starlet Courtney Page took a break from performing, opting instead to do work behind the camera and exploring the world of webcamming. Prior to her break, Courtney had a number of stand out scenes including in Beverly Hillbillies XXX where she has a four-way lesbian tryst with Ellie Mae (Kagney Linn Karter), The Teacher 2 with Tommy Gunn and her dream scene with Rocco Reed in Very Bad Wives.

Coutney is back and better than ever with recent releases Swallow This 10, Internal Injections 4, and Asseaters Unanimous 22.

XCritic writer Apache Warrior caught up with Courtney Page and has a complete interview discussing her time off, what she learned and what she's up to now.

Hi Courtney, I am so excited to see you return to the industry. What have you been doing during your time off from this business? How has it made you a better person?

Thank you! I am so excited to be back in the biz! Since "retiring" in 2011, I have been mostly exploring different aspects of the Adult Industry without actually being in front of the camera. Well technically, I am when I webcam, but it's a completely different experience from filming porn. Webcamming is incredibly hard! And I thought it was just me, but I have found out that many pornstars attempting the cam girl thing struggle with it. You would think as someone used to being sexual in front of a camera, I would excel at it, but it's the girls who haven't ever done things like this before who have the upper hand. As a former adult actress, I was used to direction on set, but when it's just a webcam and room full of guys expecting to have their minds blown, it's a little daunting! I had no one telling me what to do, as far as knowing how long to exchange pleasantries, when to remove my clothes and just get down to business, and quite often I would encounter guys who simply wanted to hang out and talk. Webcam sites are for two types of guys, lonely ones and horny ones. Its a mixed bag and you have to please a group of men all wanting something different and then them getting crazy aggressive when you don't meet their demands.

Of course, on the other hand, you have the guys (and girls! whoo!) who are so fascinated by the porn status and just want you to sit there and watch them jerk it. Like, having a pornstar watch them is the ultimate level of approval possible to receive while exploring their exhibitionism. That is flattering in a huge way!

Along with webcamming I have also dabbled in a few different things here and there like PR, hosting my own podcast, and blogging about my life which luckily turned out to be entertaining to my fans. I really got to be myself completely during this time off and I think I showed that I am even more of a clown than what you see in my porn or through tweets. I got to grow up some more as well.

I am thrilled that you are already getting work and you have just returned. What does it mean to you that people still want to work with you?

I was pretty worried that coming back I would be met with the struggle of having to overly prove my worth and professionalism, so much so that thats what I would be doing the whole time instead truly just getting back into work and enjoying myself and producing good smut! I mean I still know I have to be a bit more of a professional than I was years ago, but that is something I can and want to do. Ya know, really show my loyal fans and hopefully new ones to gain that I belong in these sorts of films because I do them well.

When you left the biz in 2011, did you have any withdrawal symptoms in not having sex so often?

I actually made sure that I kept an almost weekly fuck session with my fuck-buddy so I didn't get rusty! I have only known porn sex as my sex-life. So I got to take this "break" to try and have what I thought would be a "normal" sex-life. I tried things with women on a more intimate level and even attempted celibacy. I really explored!

I know that you enjoy webcamming. Why is it so much fun?

For me webcamming is so much fun because once I got the hang of it, I realized that it could be whatever I wanted! If I wanted to get on and just get my rocks off, I could do that. If I just wanted to watch some guys jerk off, that was an option. But most of all, I got to joke around with these men that approached me (and every webcam situation, I'm sure) like a semi-romantic, straight to the point activity. I surprised them with my personality and humor and it was refreshing not only for them, but for me as well to be able to show off my comedic side to an audience that only knew me as a sexual plaything. I swear sometimes I go on just to do material and should be charging a 2 drink minimum to get in my room!

How did you get your first start in this business?

I got my start in the business initially through Myspace. That's where I first found an outlet for my enormous sexual appetite and curiosity. I gained this newfound sexual confidence or identity on that site and then took it (maybe too far, now looking back) to Craigslist and would every weekend post a "Casual Encounter" request with whatever I wanted to try that night. Threesomes, blow jobs, girl on girl experiences, role-play,whatever! Now this was before that lifetime movie came out about that Craigslist Killer and junk so it was harmless in my eyes. Today I would NOT be doing that! Good Lord!

What has been your most pleasurable moments? What has been your least pleasurable?

My most pleasurable moments have been experiencing this awesome thing that no one tells you about when you start porn. FANS! Through Twitter, I got to meet (online) the very people I was trying to bring pleasure to with my work and it is such an amazing feeling to have these people be frank with me and talk with me as if we're all friends. And in a lot of cases they are my friends. I mean, I got my dog Henry Waffles from a fan and that dog is the love of my life! Stuff like that is just surreal! Awesomely surreal.

Now the other side, the unpleasant part is experiencing individuals out there that just despise porn and anything to do with it with a deep passion. In the past, I wasn't one to take crap from anyone and gladly met a fight with the same intensity and that is just so bad. I was younger and didn't realize until after that the public is no place to air dirty laundry or fight for everyone to see and have my fans and friends and family watch me acting foolish.

What has been the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry?

The biggest surprise for me has been how adult performers treat each other. I came from stripping then went to porn and strippers are ruthless. Like over the fucking top nasty to one another because of the competition for making that money. The adult industry is not anything like that! We all genuinely get along. At first, I thought this was because we all would probably at some point be having sex with each other, but it's a rare breed of human that can do this job and last and enjoy it. When you find a group of people that get you and what you're all about with porn, you show respect not because it's good for business, but because you truly feel that way.

It's cool that you are fascinated with a man's penis. I guess that is the reason why you love giving blow jobs so much. You get to be up and close and personal to it right?

I do! I never got to take sex ed or heath class because my mom would pull me out of school while they taught that stuff so the penis remained a complete mystery to me until I lost my virginity at 20 years old! Its still a mystery to me and ever so fascinating. That sounds so strange! 

Many adult stars are animal lovers. Are you one of them? Are you a cat or dog person?

O MY GOD! I love animals so friggin much! Marilyn Monroe put it perfectly with this quote:

"Dogs never bite me. Just humans."

I grew up with some not so great authority figures and I always had and have found comfort in the unconditional love of an animal. And I am a cat person, but don't tell Henry Waffles that!

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, etc.) who you have not had the opportunity to work and why? What would be your dream scene?

I wish I could have worked with Julian, I think it's his name. I was completely in love with him when I entered the biz and wanted to do a scene with him so so badly, but I think he had moved on to directing or something else by that time. I was heartbroken until my scene with Rocco Reed. I had my dream scene, with the MR. ROCCO REED!

How were you as a kid growing up?

As a kid, I was an only child, so very independent. I was also painfully shy. I think it's because I had to start wearing huge glasses in the 2nd grade, just out of nowhere and I was really smart. I was suppose to skip a grade, but my mom wanted me to stay with kids my age throughout school.

I can tell that you are app crazy. What is it about apps that are so fun?

I LOVE APPS. I think it is so hilarious when I find a new app to obsess over because my whole universe consists of that app! When I discovered the Cine Beat app, I thought for sure I would be dropping an album in the near future! I never had an iPhone until last year so I would always see those Apple commercials where they would be like "There's an app for that" or "If it isn't an iPhone, it isn't an iPhone". I was content with my blackberry and didn't see the big whoop with these app thingies. I was so naive.

What are your hobbies and interests?

My hobbies are limited since I now live in Arizona where the temperature is 110 degrees at 10 o clock at night. I watch ALOT of TV. I play/pick on Henry a lot. I write for my blog and most recently popporn.com. I just started reading again, which I haven't been able to do in years! I have ADD bad! Is it so lame to say apps as a hobby and interest? Let me just say since leaving porn and Hollywood, my life got considerably slower paced.

What is your shoe size?

My shoe size is an 8 and a half to be general. But I only wear Chucks so it's a 7 really. Used to be 7 and half, but Converse stopped making half sizes due to lack of demand. Boo. Oh and I am a 9 in high heals with a closed toe. Oh yeah and a solid 8 in flip flops. Answering #14 is for my foot fetish peeps!

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

My favorite thing is knowing that I belong to a odd group of people who can perform the most intimate act at the drop of a hat in front of any number of people and not feel awkward EVER or out of place. I guess my favorite thing is belonging. It's where I feel I belong. EVEN though I get so many people saying "Oh but your so pretty. Why do porn?" Cant stand that! Should porn consist of trolls and mutants? I don't wanna see that!

Are there any web sites or future projects that you would like to promote? What are you currently working on film wise?

I would like to promote my clips4sale site! Its the closest thing I have come to owning my own website/paysite in all these years of planning a site and searching for a webmaster. Plus, I always thought I would make a great porn director, especially after doing 98% of all the camera work on Casey's Camper (my reality show about a cross country slutfest). I think this may be the closest I will ever get to be the director.
