People Still Ride Horses

Allow me to introduce myself.  I am an eternal optimist.  I believe there is a reason for everything, that the world is not headed toward utter destruction, and that we are indeed moving forward and progressing toward a better, brighter future.  And yes, I believe this about (gasp) the adult industry too. 

Yes I realize I’m new to the industry, the fresh face.  I realize a lot of you have been in this industry (or watching it) for many years, ten, 20, 100 years even, and you might view me as the annoying eager intern who hasn’t earned her training wheels yet (although I’ve taken it up the ass so I assume I’ve at least earned those).  Yes I might be a bright, eager, eternal optimist, but I absolutely refuse to believe that this industry is taking a nose dive to Hell. 

When I first entered the industry in late 2011 all I ever heard on set was, “You should’ve seen it three, five, ten years ago.  You would’ve really been making money then.” Or “It’s just not what it used to be.”  “No one’s making money anymore,” etc etc.

Well I’ve had it with the negativity.  Guess what.  If you weren’t making money, you wouldn’t be here right now. None of us would.  No I don’t wish to see what the industry was like 15 years ago (partly because I was 11 years old then and that would’ve been illegal) but also because it’s in the past.  No industry will ever be what it used to be.  The car industry isn’t what it used to be.  But people are still making money.  Good money.  And quite frankly, if things weren’t changing and evolving, I’d be worried.

The way we do it might change, but porn is not going anywhere.  It’s one of the oldest trades in the world.  It’s even in the bible.  Can you imagine if all we ever did were live sex shows and no one ever thought to invent a camera so people could see your sex show all over the world?  This is where it’s at people.  Right now.  Not five, 20 or 30 years ago.

I also refuse to believe that internet porn murdered dvds.  I sold 30 dvds at Exxxotica Atlantic City last month. 30.  And that’s just me.  Imagine the total dvds sold of every girl and every company there, just for one weekend.  Picture it this way: people still ride horses.  Dvds aren’t a necessity anymore.  You don’t have to buy a dvd to watch a porno anymore.  But you will still buy them, it’s just not a necessity anymore.  It’s a luxury item. It’s for fun.  And this is America. If people can spend money on something, they will.

So everyone just calm down and get your panties out of a bunch.  Porn is not going anywhere and neither are dvds.  But we get to be on the brink of something exciting.  The industry is changing and we get to be a part of that.  It’s forcing us to get creative and find the money in new places.  And I don’t see that as a bad thing.  Using our creativity.  Using our brains again.  So let’s quit whining, get over the past, and make really great porn!  Let’s make a product so great, it will entice people to pay for it. 

But then again, what do I know? I’m just an optimistic newbie.  Have your own opinion.  In the meantime, I’m going to do what I love which is to fuck and entertain all of you : )
