Joanna Angel: Dr. Jay’s Performer of the week.

Forgive me for becoming a bit sentimental in this week's blog. But, it's Thanksgiving week, and I am going to take this opportunity to expound about the things in the porn industry that make me grateful.

To my way of thinking, there are three major "categories" of people in porn for whom I give thanks: performers, directors, and producers. Generally, we think of these three groups of people as being discrete, separate, and mutually essential to first-class adult fare.

Of course, all of us who enjoy porn are thankful to the women and men who shed their clothes for us on a regular basis. I appreciate the girls, particularly, so much that I created an aware program just for them. Known as the Dr. Jay's Must-See Girls, these girls epitomize sensuality, performance, and unbelievable sexual talent. Performers like Jesse Jane, jessica drake, Kimberly Kane, Teagan Presley, and Tory Lane have been at the top of their games for many years. Yet, their performances still please...more than ever!

Performers need directors to coax the very best sexual and acting performances out of them. Super directors for whom I am most grateful include Joone, Will Ryder, Jules Jordan, Mike Adriano, Chris Streams, William H., Belladonna, Joshua Presley, and Mason. Seldom will you find a movie directed by any of these professionals to be less than stellar.

Finally, the producers own studios and take a long hard look at the market, determine what they think will sell, and support the directors with the financing they need (of course, not as much as they want) to make the awesome adult movies we enjoy today. I am particularly grateful to the honchos at Digital Playground, Adam & Eve, Jules Jordan, X-Play, and Elegant Angel for producing titles that I like and appreciate.

This week, I am honoring a very special woman who is all three of the above: scorchingly-hot performer, gifted and creative director, and successful producer. Of course, I'm talking about the singular Joanna Angel.

Joanna Angel, often considered a Queen of Alt Porn, is a highly gifted, exuberant, sensual, and exciting sexual performer. And, she's damned hot to look upon as well (I love her edgy tattoos!). She'll do virtually anything in the name of pleasure, whether it be boy/girl, girl/girl, or group sex. She'll readily give up all over her holes...mouth, vagina, and anus...one at a time, double penetration, or air tight. And, she's not afraid of using hot and sexy toys to pleasure herself or others, either. If something will give her or her partner(s) pleasure, Joanna's up for it!

Joanna's value, however, extends far beyond her stellar sexual performances. I particularly enjoy her creative talent as a director. For example, I just watched her recently-released Kung Fu Pussy. Wow! Not only is the sex first rate (my colleague Sean DPS gave the movie a Highly Recommended rating), but the creativity displayed is far beyond the typical "let's fuck on somebody's couch" routine that is so ubiquitous in the adult business nowadays. Kung Fu Pussy is a riot. It's a parody of the old martial arts movies and hits the target directly in its cheesiness. I really think you'll like this title as well as some of her other titles that are among my favorites: Joanna Angel's Lights Out, Lezbos and Big Boobs are Cool 3. I make you this guarantee: If you watch any movie directed by Joanna Angel, it will not be the boring same-ole, same ole. You'll find the movie creative and fun!

Not only does Joanna star in and direct movies, but she also owns the studio that produces her work. Burning Angel, her studio, focuses on so-called alt porn, whatever that's supposed to mean. In reality, the studio's titles zero-in on highly-decorated performers (tattoos and/or piercings) having sex as part of the highly creative scenarios I've already mentioned. Burning Angel is somehow able to engender a great deal of loyalty among the performers it hires to star in its movies. In particular, one of my heartthrobs, Kleio, appears only in Burning Angel titles.
