When I was first presented with the task of reviewing GET INTO PORN, the first book from 25-year adult entertainment executive Joy King, I must say I found the prospect of such a chore more than a little daunting. It was a fascinating and informative read, to be sure, but how could I possibly review it objectively? After all, in addition to being friends, I consider Joy a personal mentor in the world of adult entertainment publicity, and instrumental in much of my industry success. 

  

But, as I found myself getting mired ever more deeply in this existential quandary, something

interesting happened... 

  

As I began speaking to new friends setting out on the road to XXX stardom themselves, I discovered, in many cases, that they'd already read the book. A case in point was the rising porn couple of Brooklyn Bailey and Ashten Alexander, who openly acknowledged King's book as instrumental in setting them on the path to porn success. 

  

As I spoke to Brooklyn and Ashten, I was able to isolate the three aspects of what I'd read in Joy's book that most helped them (and continues to guide countless others): Quite simply, it gives you a solid, no B.S. approach for establishing yourself in the adult talent pool quickly and effectively; it teaches you the personal flourishes needed to make sure you are hired over and over as a performer; and, above all else, it gives a step-by-step guideline for making your life as an adult film performer a career, not just a job or temporary dalliance.  

  

So, at the end of the day, there can be no higher "review" or testimonial than this: whether you're a nineteen-year vet like myself or an emerging star like Brooklyn Bailey or Ashten Alexander, Joy King has the goods, and her book works.
