I have nothing to wear to AVN/AEE. Well, maybe I have enough to get me through a couple of days, but I certainly don't have the entire five days covered. The rest of the clothes I'm supposed to wear are on their way from China, and it's looking like they won't get here on time. Oops. Maybe my dad won't mind coming to Philadelphia to pick them up and fly them to me in Vegas if they arrive mid-week?

This month in books: Summer Sisters (one of Judy Blume's novels for adults) was really good but definitely goes in the category of sappy chick lit. Outliers was ok, The Tipping Point is still the best of Gladwell's work in my opinion. Margaret Atwood's The Killer Bride was fantastic, although I wish someone had told me that most of her work is very unlike The Handmaid's Tale. Ender in Exile (the best present EVER) is amazing. At least the first 30 pages are, but I'm trying to save it for the next airplane. Future Files was frighteningly accurate and simultaneously better sci fi than most new books in the genre I've read lately, even though it's not labled as fiction. Is it still sci fi if it ends up being an accurate portrayal of the future?

It snowed this morning, and my downstairs neighbours seem to be having a keg-throwing party in celebration of new years. Either that or when they woke up this morning they discovered they had transformed into elephants overnight. Like that Kafka novel. Speaking of which, I really want to go to Prague. No, I don't have any idea why I want to go to Prague or what I would do there, but I'm positive it would be an adventure.

My built-like-a-tank commercial sewing machine jammed a couple of days ago, and the whole holiday thing is making it difficult to find a repair place. What I really want to know is how I managed to jam the thing. Sewing machines, cell phones, hardware and software related to video content. I'm like kryptonite to all of it. Luddism in reverse? Bah, probably error is between keyboard and chair.

Stoyaxxx.com has a spiffy new splash page that will hopefully be what the rest of the site ends up looking like. Now if I can just figure out how to get the content I currently have into a mail-able format so they can start building stuff. Argh.
