Vivid Ent. – How the Mighty Have Fallen

I have had a love/hate relationship with Vivid Entertainment since I first started watching porn more than 15 years ago.

Some of my friends work there and I think a couple of their contract girls are great. But over the last few years they have me scratching my head wondering what the fuck they are doing.

It all started with the "Jenna hype" and slowly went downhill from there with the Kim Kardashian, Toasty and Jessica Sierra sex tapes.

Now it is Jimi Hendrix (if it is really him) and a sex tape. Being the megalomaniac cash whore's they are - Vivid is releasing it.

I was going to hold my tongue on this one but the more I heard about it and the more I thought about it, the more nauseas I got.

I am a very big fan of Jimi Hendrix. I have read just about every book you can find on him, I have tried to play his songs on guitar like him and failed miserably and I've seen a couple of films about him. But this Vivid release, I will not even consider seeing, let alone reviewing.

Let me preface this by saying I really dislike "celebrity sex tapes" They were once intriguing at best, and the companies who released them made money hand over first off of them.

The difference with The Jimi Hendrix sex tape is this....

Jimi is dead. He has been since September 18, 1970. So he has no say in this sex tape being released. His father is deceased I believe and he has no siblings. There is a Jimi Hendrix Estate, which took just about everything away from Al due to poor music contracts in the 1970s. So they are making big money of the Hendrix name and the family got nothing. No one is around to stick up for Jimi Hendrix in this matter to my knowledge. Maybe the Estate could but who knows.

Paris, Tommy Lee, Pamela, Screech etc etc. They were all alive when their sex tapes came out and they had a right to defend themselves, but Jimi Hendrix doesn't.

Jimi Hendrix has been a rock 'n' roll guitar icon for more than 30 years. He is a rock 'n' roll hall of famer, and he is praised by his peers. It is not like he is "leaking" this to make a name for himself or to get fat cash.

What Vivid is doing is just disgusting to me. They don't care about anything except the money. I know that is apparently the name of the game but they sold out long ago and this just proves how far they have fallen in the adult industry.
