Spotlight Title: The Visitors

It's that time of year again; you know; when the AVN deadlines for their yearly awards loom and all the studios start releasing their biggest blockbusters. We have a doozy for you this time too with the Wicked Pictures release of The Visitors, a horror movie that sets a new standard for porn. Reviewer Don Houston said this about the DVD set that came out this week: "In recent years, they have scaled back the number of their movies but still manage to impress me with how each director they have seems to address a niche so well; from Armstrong's movies on relationships, to Morgan's comedies, to Stanley's quirky offerings, to Raven's little erotica pieces. Today's review is on a title just released by the company called The Visitors. Directed by Michael Raven it was a compact little horror flick about alien abductions that would have been suitable for a mainstream audience. I'm not going to ruin the story (yes, there was one) or the surprise ending for you so I'll stick with providing a breakdown of the sex scenes but it should be noted that this was yet another step forward in bringing porn closer to a mainstream audience.

The Visitors is not the type of porno you'll want to pick up as a movie to jerk off to. While that sounds like the kiss of doom for any adult release, it did succeed nicely as a tight little horror movie designed to keep your attention between the sex scenes. I know that sounds counterintuitive but the fact is that the market Wicked Pictures is going for is not the same as your generic gonzo company and this title was one of their best all year in that regard. In terms of displaying sexuality more heatedly, Curse Eternal was better by a wide margin just as the parodies Camp Cuddly Pines or Space Nuts were clearly larger budget titles with more trimmings. Still, The Visitors was closer to the mark in terms of providing a mainstream flick that happened to have some sex in it than just about any Wicked Pictures movie I can recall and I dare say will be a great gateway movie to share with someone not into traditional porn. The acting was on par with most syndicated television shows, as were the special effects, but if you're looking for the kind of porno you can share with that special someone, I'd suggest this as Highly Recommended. Expect to see the movie mentioned a lot at awards time given the manner in which it was created, Raven returning to his roots of "porn with a plot" in a big way."

Sneak Peeks: Jack's Big Ass Show 3 and Ass Addiction

We got a chance to look into our crystal ball again, courtesy of Digital Playground, and see a couple of excellent titles that will be released next month; Jack's Big Ass Show 3 and Ass Addiction; both by infamous director Robby D.. First up is a look at Jack's Big Ass Show 3 were our crew said: "Always experimenting with styles and techniques, he seems to have an affinity for being able to showcase lovely women like Jana Cova better than just about anyone in the business. His latest collaboration with Jana is Jack's Big Ass Show 3, the third in the series following Jack's Big Ass Show 2 and Jack's Big Ass Show. The basic premise of the Jack concept was still present; getting gals to screw on camera by tempting them with music video work, but the idea as in the previous volumes of the series was to show off some of the hottest ass in porn. With gals like Jana, Katja Kassin, Sunny Lane, Luscious Lopez, and Devon Lee, I knew this was going to be hot! The ladies were all in fine form, the manner they were captured by director Robby D. enhanced their appeal a lot, and the amount of fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay made this movie worthy of being Highly Recommended. As Robby branches out to various niches with his Jack character, shows like Jack's Big Ass Show 3 will hopefully find a wider audience thanks to some of the best tease on the market combined with all the factors fans have demanded. If you like ass, you simply can't go wrong with this one.

If that wasn't enough for fans of hot ass, Ass Addiction's two and a half hours of royal rump wrangling will certainly find favor with you as: "There was a time when a lot of raincoaters used to fuss at Digital Playground for providing the weakest of porn; suggesting that what the company made was not only practically cable ready but too light for even couples to enjoy. Well, over the last year or so, director Robby D. has seemingly set out on a mission to change that perception by offering some of the hardest action available without the need to rely on circus act sex or other silly antics to help you get off. His latest title in this area is the upcoming Ass Addiction, starring some of the finest ladies ever to grace a porno; each of which has a substantial following from what I've seen online. Unlike other releases by a variety of companies that lead you to believe the action will contain one thing and then let you down, each gal in the movie did some hardcore bareback anal, most of them showing the kind of enthusiasm you want to see in your porn. Ass Addiction was definitely what I needed as my fix for the week in terms of anal sex. The ladies were all well versed in their field, provided ample anal escapades to enjoy, and the technical values were quite well handled. There was no thematic sidetracking going on (none of the "Jack" humor in particular) and fans of straightforward anal sex will find this latest release from Robby's Handheld Pictures company to be the "gold" he always talks about providing. The level of fuck for the buck was well above average and the replay value was matched only by the chemistry most of the cast showed so I rated this one as Highly Recommended. The detractors of the company can rest assured that Ass Addiction was as well handled a piece of work as they're likely to see; something even I would have scoffed at a short time ago. In short, Robby has proven he can do it all, and do it well, proving his chameleon-like ability to offer up all kinds of porn for the masses."

Highlights of The Week

Reviewer Don Houston liked Daddy's Little Princess, saying: "Mark Wood has always struck me as one of the nicest guys in porn but also a man willing to learn from others and try to make the best stroke material he can with what he has to work with. Unlike the prima donna directors we all read about, he and his gorgeous wife (who can have me any time she likes by the way), have long catered to specialty niches and titles that served fetishes that larger companies left untouched. Now that they have a deal of sorts with Combat Zone, I suspect they'll be offering up a wealth of fun titles more geared to the youth market, as was the case with Daddy's Little Princess; their first such collaboration. The emphasis was on showcasing a number of attractive ladies new to porn in various scenarios all having fun with Mark and others. Given the quality of the casting, the usually fine performances by the ladies and sheer amount of fuck for the buck (both in the movie and the great BTS feature), I thought it was worth at least a rating of Recommended. The technical values might need some polishing up and the casting relied too heavily on getting the newest gals over the best performers on the market but I'd be hard pressed to suggest that the strokability and fun factors were askew with the cost of the DVD and it looks like Dion has another solid director locked into his growing stable of talent.

Disco Dirge found a couple of heated hits to handle with Whoregasm; "While never bored, the Dirge was never fully engaged either. Whoregasm's collection of gals was impressive, but just can't match the level of likeable lewdness achieved in such similar, stellar titles as Where the Boys Aren't. The vast majority of the same sex scenes here are well done however, and for those who find this clit to slit material the zenith of male fantasy fodder, you'll probably be hard pressed to find better aggressive action. Easily earning a Recommended rating, Whoregasm should satisfy even the most persnickety lover of lesbianism. As for the effect such a scenario has on couples, a Cohabitation Certification is withheld. It is not denied outright, but the amount of marital aid you find here will be based solely on your partner's personal proclivity. While he never thought it would happen, Whoregasm changed this critic's concept of the all-girl title...at least, for a couple of hours", and Whole Lotta Azz; "If you base your rating of pornography solely on the amount of gird your groin generates, then Whole Lotta Azz is a real winner. It easily earns the Highly Recommended score, and would vie for the Collector's Series ranking had the bonus material and final scene been better. Still, Black Ice and Lee G. are a company and a filmmaker to watch. If they keep delivering the kind of soft, sensuous, mind-bending mamas that this DVD displays, if they keep their mind of the red eyed prize, if they continue to champion women of full and rounded figure, then they will have a long and prosperous time as first class flesh peddlers. So all you dumper devotees rejoice. Finally, ladies of color are getting the derriere recognition they so richly require. If Whole Lotta Azz doesn't get your motor running, you're probably dead. This is some seriously hot stuff."

Reviewer Don loves the female backside as much as any man alive so it comes as no surprise that the cover to What An Ass! 2 reeled him in recently and had him saying: "The ladies all looked the part though they did not have anal as some of you would believe given the title, and if you appreciate new gals in porn that can tease and have fun, you'll be able to use this one to get off to a few times. The extras and amount of fuck for the buck served to enhance the experience and if you're looking for a good time, you could do far worse. In short, What An Ass! 2 had some very appealing asses on display and a number of scenes that were very stimulating so check it out." Director Tyrone Shuz and assistant Brother Love did a fine job of conveying heat and it sure looked like covergirl Tia Sweets was falling out all over the place.

Reviewer Namrufmot was pleased to report that he found a few worth discussing this week with: Teen Cum Squad 5; "I was highly impressed with the fourth installment in the Teen Cum Squad series, and this one is just as good (if not better). When you take the flawless girls, the passionate sex, and solid technical quality, you have an enjoyable DVD on your hands. Liquid Ass-ets 2 had such a promising cover that we said: "3rd Degree has become one of my favorite companies for gonzo porn of late thanks to their casting, use of tease, and reasonable price as much as the skillful direction of such men as Chris Streams. One look at the guy and you'd think he'd be more at home changing the oil on your truck or running a tattoo parlor yet he impresses me on a regular basis for the kind of performances he coaxes out of talent. His latest release is Liquid Ass-ets 2, the sequel to the well received Liquid Ass-sets 1; both being about attractive ladies that end up receiving anal creampies. Given Chris' success in the past and the line up of hot ladies in the movie, I was sure this would be a no-brainer in terms of quality that merited a rating of Recommended given the truth in advertising, the cast, and the amount of fuck for the buck provided. The technical values were top notch and the value of the action was solid as a wide variety of gals were tapped by the usual men. If you give it a look, I think you might even like it more than I did but I've seen some of the ladies in a great many scenes and that means they suffered by comparison to their own work from time to time."

New reviewer Addison DeLick wanted wet, wacky fun so she climbed aboard Hot Squirts 2 to say: "The glorious phenomenon of squirting, or female ejaculation, was virtually unknown in adult films until the 1990s, but it has since become a proud niche. Don Houston found himself faced with several virtual sex titles so we encouraged him to write a short article as seen below but he found that three such titles were particularly interesting for fans of the leads in My Plaything Amy Ried: "will greatly appeal to fans of the virtual sex genre as well as those who want to see more sex from lead hotty Amy Ried than she showed in movies like New Whores on the Block, Baker's Dozen 8, Strap It On 2, O Ring Blowout (as Devin Valencia), Jailbait 2 (as Devin Valencia), and Girl Crazy 7. For those who don't really dislike her or this type of action, a rating of Recommended seems most appropriate given the amount and quality of fuck for the buck though slavering fanboys should already have a copy in their sweaty little palms by the time they read this. Should Amy stay out of porn, I'll wish her well and consider this one of her best performances, but like several people I've discussed this with; I hope she makes a come back soon in part due to the heat she gave here with partner Erik Everhard", Virtual Sex with Mercedez: "a tribute to fans of the busty Latina porn performer who's now out of contract. Having watched her in movies such as Where The Boys Aren't 17, Who Do You Love?, Coming On Set, Diary of an Orgy, Before I Wake, and So I Married A Porn Star; I can safely say that she tended to be a passive partner when it came to screwing on camera but had a look that was undeniably sexy. I haven't seen all of the Virtual Sex volumes in the past but she seemed well suited to the limitations of the genre and Scott Nails was the perfect partner for her to work with. In short, Virtual Sex with Mercedez is the best way to play with the Latina porn sensation, proving once again that Digital Playground is the leader in the field of sex simulators", and Playing with Jasmine Tame: "another winning performance by the starlet. Jasmine is very attractive and she has the potential to really shine in the porn industry as a force to be reckoned with. In short, Playing With Jasmine Tame will really knock your socks off if you like Jasmine Tame and the virtual sex genre.

Reviewer The Mooninite has long followed the comings and going of porn superstar Belladonna so he grabbed the sequel to No Warning 1: Special Extended Set, No Warning 2, as fast as his unearthly mitts could to tell us: "Belladonna has long been known to smut fans as the queen of the extreme, and having recently fucked some fruit in Fetish Fanatic 3, it's tough to argue. In her latest effort to push the limits of human sexual endurance to the breaking point, No Warning 2, she once again combines hot girl on girl sex with bondage, domination, humiliation and stunt fucking the likes of which you've probably never seen before. Don Houston has long been a fan of the one and only Blackzilla so he enjoyed I Can't Believe I Took the Whole Thing 7 a lot more than average, telling the readers: "a series of scenes where Shane screws newcomers to the best of their ability that was another winner for Brother Love and Shane Diesel, warranting a rating of Recommended. I would have liked all of the gals to be as into the action and skilled as Mysti May (the highlight of the show) but one of the biggest draws of the movie was seeing how much the limits of the ladies were going to be pushed by the huge cock of Shane. If you'd rather see ultra active ladies working meat pipe, you should probably find smaller cocks, like Lexington Steele's, going to work on new ladies but many of you are into seeing wide dicks screwing ladies rather than just long ones and that was one of the strengths of I Can't Believe I Took The Whole Thing #7.

In an effort to provide a second look at an experimental release that reviewer Don Houston
found "unappealing and gross", The Mooninite checked out Naked and Famous, finding a lot to enjoy in the process. "Director/star Kimberly Kane and cameraman/editor Jack The Zipper head into strange territory with this one, that I suppose you could call 'alt porn' (though really that label sucks!). It stars an attractive cast of established and up and coming ladies, features some creative set design and some hot sex, and is at least trying for something different. Though there are mistakes made along the way, the good outweighs the bad. This release isn't going to be for everyone, particularly if you like your gonzo style porn straight up without any art direction or experimental attempts at trying something new (and if you do there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that this release isn't geared for that market). Those who are willing to accept some strange visual choices and look past a few scenes that are just flat out over done will find some genuinely erotic action underneath it all. Pulse's release of Naked And Famous looks and sounds decent enough and contains some interesting extras, which is enough to warrant a recommendation!"

Reviewer Colonel Mustard appreciates value and the finer side of foreign porn so we perked up when he suggested a couple of fine choices for your purview; Young Harlots Le Chateau: "In the follow up release to one of my favorite releases of the year (Young Harlots in London), Director Gazzman has enlisted the services of five young women to see if they can complete with the original cast. In this rendition, Rennee has just completed a solid semester in England and her Daddy allows her and her friends to be escorted to Paris. Saul Good said of Anal Authority 3: "Mark Ashley has put together a very fine movie. The girls are all above average in looks and talent. The film has that grittiness of typical porn, but Ashley has such a strong hand at the camera that the flick usurps all this. His shots are tight, his edits smooth and direction seems to be right on. At times some of the action became repetitive, scenes were rather lengthy (about 40 minutes each), but the clean shots Ashley gives us offers some freshness to the boning. At other times, some gals might have given a little more effort in their scenes, but this was balanced by the other gals, who offered the opposite. This gave a little of both sides, which was nice. Overall, there is very little new here; the action is straightforward boning for the most. What is great is the quality of the representation. This isn't a high budget or glam pic. It's still the typical, on the floor of some rich dude's house fuck scene. But it's very well presented, and that I think, shows great effort and attention. I admire that."

Reviews 101: Virtual Sex Simulators

When I tackled a recent handful of sex simulator titles this week, I was presented with the task of writing up a short article to introduce the genre to newcomers. The idea of the genre is to provide a videogame styled experience where a fan can control a selection of clips featuring a particular performer doing a variety of sexual actions. Instead of your typical porno where the featured gal may get a single scene or two, these focus all their energies at showcasing the ladies as the only one worth watching. The camera work emphasizes the point of view (POV) camera angle popularized in gonzo, allowing fans to fantasize they are the stunt cock getting to work with the lady. Over the years, minor improvements have enhanced the genre a bit but there really hasn't been that much change in the format with most titles offering some tease, foreplay, and then a set of classic sexual positions for the ladies to offer. There are three major companies that amount to the players in the field with two dominating the market but a third warranting some consideration due to the sheer number of titles they've been releasing in the past year. In no particular order, there is Digital Sin's My Plaything series, Digital Playground's Virtual Sex series, and Anarchy's Playing With series to amuse and provide fans with hours of erotic entertainment. Each has their own quirks and advantages as I'll briefly touch upon here.

Digital Playground's Virtual Sex series has been around since the advent of the DVD format (predating it on CD-ROM if I recall correctly) and still serves as the template from which the others seem to gain their sense of inspiration. The ladies will striptease, tell anecdotes from their sorted pasts, engage in foreplay, and then sex. Some of their ladies have been inclined to do anal with titty fucking and foot fetish being the latest additions to their repertoire. Many lay the blame of the computer generated pop shots at their feet but they have been working on rectifying this shortcoming by offering up some real ones on recent releases. They tend to concentrate on offering up their own lovely contract stars (we're waiting on the Jana Cova volume) or former contract stars from competitors but out of all the players in the field, the talent they use is considered the best available.

Digital Sin's My Plaything series is very much like the previous line up from Digital Playground. The option of a naughty or nice attitude by the selected performer seems somewhat more pronounced with this series but the clips are often too short and the fake male pop shots tend to upset fans more than any other factor. The selection of the ladies for the series tends to favor established stars with some degree of longevity and the company can brag that they are the only one of the three that has worked out deals to showcase contract stars under contract elsewhere. In terms of technical matters, the audio and video tend to be top notch with some extras offered up on most volumes of the series (My Plaything: Jenna Jameson 2 still leading the genre with a full second disc of extras, unmatched years later as I write this). Vivid and Club Jenna cooperate with the company in terms of providing talent (though Vivid is experimenting with their own brand from what I hear) though they find some of their best ladies elsewhere.

Anarchy's Playing With series is the newcomer on the block and relies heavily on the skill of director Jimmy D. and an assortment of ladies that amount to playing the lottery in terms of quality. Several recent volumes feature women that have retired from porn (or ran away running) but the major difference of the series is that there tends to be fewer selections and they come out more frequently. You don't get to see a naughty or nice option, the variety of tease seems limited to a bit of gyrating on a stage, and the male pop shots are real (or reasonably close).

On the near horizon is Vivid's long awaited entry into this market with their Virtual Vivid Girl line. First up in this series is Virtual Vivid Girl Sunny Leone. Vivid has put a lot of stock in Sunny and so we're eagerly waiting to take a gander at this new series.

Only you will know if this type of porno is going to get you off or provide enough stroke factor to merit the cost but as a means to showcase the contemporary ladies of porn in such a way that forever immortalizes them on the small screen, you could do far worse. POV titles have sprung forth as much from these titles as the gonzo reality work from directors such as Seymore Butts and John Stagliano with newcomers like Zero Tolerance getting in on the action with the heated Interactive Sex with Courtney Cummz, Bouncy Pictures shooting lots of their My Virtual... series, Don Goo offering Digital Pleasure With..., and even VCA once trying to hone in with their Fantasex line.

Spotlight Interview: Kurt Lockwood

Kurt Lockwood is definitely one of the most recognized men in the adult industry today because of his boyish charm and having done over 100's of scenes. Kurt Lockwood: Actually what I was saying was that "The Bad Boy of Porn" title is more what others have given me rather than what I have called myself. I see myself as someone who speaks up for myself and in some cases stands up for myself, and some people perceive that differently.

Mistress Liss: With money aside, would you rather work in the music industry or the porn industry and why?

Kurt Lockwood: I would much rather work in the music industry but only if it could be as a rock star. When I was a punk rock guitar player touring around, playing shows with Dee Dee Ramone, I got a taste of what it's like to play awesome punk rock in front of large adoring crowds and believe me when I tell you, it's better than sex. My band P.C.P., the Porn City Punx, just played at the Hollywood Premiere for my directorial debut The Decline of Western Civilization Part 69: The Porno Years. We performed in front of 900 people and it was incredible.

Mistress Liss: What is a typical day like in the life of Kurt Lockwood?

Kurt Lockwood: I wake up, kiss my girlfriend, smoke a bowl out on my balcony, read the paper, hang out with my cats, take a shower, drink a smoothie, go to work, come home, watch TiVo, go to the movies, go out to a club, go out to dinner, make love to my girlfriend. The bottom line with me is always "MAXIMUM FUN."

Mistress Liss: Congrats on LA Vice! I read the script on your web site. What sparked your inspiration to write it, and will we be seeing more of your scripts in the future?

Kurt Lockwood: Lots of things inspired me to write L.A. VICE. I wanted to capitalize on the mainstream MIAMI VICE coming out first and foremost. I love the Beastie Boys "Sabotage" video, the "Angels Live in My Town" segment of BOOGIE NIGHTS, the John Holmes' Johnny Wad series. All of those things came together. Getting Ron Jeremy to play my L.A. cocaine kingpin bad guy was the casting choice of the century! He is awesome in this. A role he was born to play!

Mistress Liss: LA Vice also involves you wanting to get back with your girlfriend and child. It was a different (but refreshing) sentiment than we see in most porn, are you looking forward to having children someday?

Kurt Lockwood: L.A. VICE also involves me and my girlfriend, the ultra hot SAMANTHA RYAN doing her first anal scene. haha! I definitely want children someday, I just don't want to still be performing when I do. I see that happening in the next three or four years.

Mistress Liss: What advice do you have for those just starting or those having thoughts of working in the adult industry?

Kurt Lockwood: Don't do it, haha. No seriously, if you have your head on straight, and you really don't have any hang ups about sex, if you can be smart with your money and not blow it all on drugs or whatever, then you can get a lot out of this business.
