I was really happy to get to talk to Gray about what all of this pain, pleasure, exhaustion and introspection meant to her.

Hello, Brooklyn! How are you? How are you doing?

"Hi, Holly!! I’m doing well. I’m so excited to share a bit about my School of Submission experience with you!"

Congrats on the release of your School Of Submission on Kink! How does it feel having it out there for your fans to watch?

"Thank you!! This is easily the most vulnerable, intimate thing I have ever done on camera, so half of me is so proud and excited to share it with the world, but the other half of me is so nervous and intimidated to have something so personal up on the internet!"

The School Of Submission series is so unique and transformative in what it looks like it can do for a submissive. What made you decide that this was the time in your career to get this?

"To be completely honest, I had no idea what this project was, or how intense it would be until I got to set and JP (The Pope) explained the process to me. All I knew was that I was doing four back to back days of heavy BDSM, and even hearing just that intimidated me slightly, but I had worked with him in the past, and was ultimately more eager and excited than anything."

What is working with JohnPaul The Pope like? So many people talk about how excellent he is at his job.

"He is THE BEST!!! Not only is he a super cool dude, and actually one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, he is truly so talented at what he does. He’s so safe, caring, and intuitive, but he is also not afraid to fuck you up if you ask for it. He’s very quick to learn how to push your buttons in all the right ways, and will never push you further than you’re comfortable. If you get to work with The Pope, you’re in the best hands. I promise your only complaint would be that you weren’t in them longer."

What was the most challenging part of this whole process?

"For me, I think the most challenging part was doing the video diaries, and spending alone time with myself between the days. So much surfaces in your brain when you’re putting your mind and body through that, and it’s not easy to sit with those thoughts and feelings, sift through them, let alone share them. But I also have to say, that while it was the most challenging part for me, it was also the most eye-opening and empowering."

How did you feel about the timing of this process and how it progressed over three or four days?

"I would say that the way it panned out was perfect. Everything happened exactly the way they needed to. I was never pushed too hard, but I was pushed exactly as hard as I could have been each day. JP is extremely intuitive, and it was really incredible to experience having him take me on this journey."

I am a complete fan girl of this series. Victoria Voxxx shoveling dirt, Kristen Scott working the battling ropes and Casey Calvert's pain tolerance---those are all just out-of-this-world submissive moments. What pushed you the hardest in your School Of Submission?

"It’s so interesting to me to think about how such a similar experience can effect and push every person in a completely different way. So many moments come to mind when I think back on the things that challenged me, but the most profound being during Day 3. After I had my physical limits pushed outside shoveling dirt, rocks, logs, etc. and was brought back inside for more torture, I had my arms tied above my head to a post so I couldn’t run. I watched JP grab the largest cow prodder he had and walk toward me with it, which scared the SHIT out of me. I shit you not, I sobbed out of straight fear. I tried to run around the other side of the pole a couple times before I submitted to it. It took me a bit, but I accepted that I could not run from it, that it was not going to hurt me more than I knew I could handle. I knew that if I didn’t like it, he wouldn’t do it again and hands tied, standing there, I got myself to accept it, breathe through it, and take it proudly. I swear I went through the five stages of grief in sixty seconds. Bringing myself to a place of calm and readiness in such a short amount of time is something I’m really proud of. It’s stuck with me since it happened, and it feels deeply empowering."

What advice would you give to another porn star who wanted to do a School Of Submission themselves?

"I’d say its not a 'porn star' experience. This is a deeply intimate, vulnerable, metamorphic human experience, and you need to be ready to bare all: heart, soul, and skin. And be open and ready for some serious personal growth and self-discovery."

What else is coming up for you? What should your fans be on the lookout for?

"I hope to continue to share the most authentic parts of myself with my fans, and so to keep looking out for me and all the ways I expand and grow!"
