Hello, Norman! How are you? How are things?
"Things are going well. I started creating adult content during the initial lockdown period in 2020 and have received positive feedback, inspiring me to continue. I’ve always been interested in exploring this genre and am excited to continue to do so."
Congrats on having your very own channel for Junk Productions on Adult Time! How does it seeing your work on there?
"It feels great. It was clear early on that Adult Time was the distributor that aligns best with my creative voice and motivations. I’ve followed the creations of Bree Mills for a while and love what she’s contributed to adult art."
How would you describe Junk Productions to someone who has never seen your studio's work?
"To be honest, I’m not sure… I mean, it’s experimental. It depicts sexual acts. I hope it appeals to erotic, aesthetic, and emotional feelings and I hope that it entertains.
At first, the goal was to create “hyper-realistic” pornography. A good portion of adult content these days fall into two categories, slapstick and amateur. By slapstick, I’m referring to porn that takes place in a world that is foreign to reality. When women are sexually motivated in ways most similar to men, which is erotically pleasing for a male audience but not realistic. Amateur porn to some extent also does that but operates in reality. Amateur though forgoes the cinematic tools that filmmakers use to help the audience immerse themselves in the story and characters. Hyper-realistic porn leverages cinematic tools such as dramatic structure, cinematography, sound/music, and production design to create an environment and characters that audiences can immerse themselves in.
In many ways, porn is designed to hack our biological responses. Dramatic narrative (mainstream) is designed to hack our emotions. I don’t believe one is necessarily mutually exclusive from the other, so my content tries to explore that belief."
You definitely bring interesting storylines in your scenes here. What inspires these plots?
"I’m interested in exploring the disconnect between modern society and our animal spirits. Humans have been around for about 200,000 years but it wasn’t until about 11,000 years ago where our ancestors made the transition from hunter-gatherers to what we now call civilization. Our environment has progressed at a rapid rate but not our brain. Our brains today aren’t much different than our ancestors 11,000 years ago when they were most worried about surviving environmental threats and the growing population. Today, population growth is no longer the major factor for human survival and progress. And spreading the worthiest seed is no longer the primary goal of humanity. Instead, spreading the best information is far more important for human development. And how has that changed our sexual desire? I’m not so sure. I mean I think it has changed societal motivations and what’s attractive to men and women for a potential mate. But when we watch pornography we’re tapping into our animalistic brains that think that we’re living tens of thousands of years ago.
I apologize if that answer is outside the scope of this interview, but I challenge everyone reading this to think about why they are attracted to the porn they like. I think that our sexual desires have immense meaning and I think it’s healthy for us to better understand our instinctual drive so we can learn to control it and perhaps eventually evolve into a more advanced lifeform. I hope that my content can help my audience accomplish that."
What kinds of scenes can we expect to see from Junk on Adult Time in the coming months?
"A lot of experimenting, for sure. I have a few more solid storylines and a few that are more about texture and circumstance. A lot of my work thus far hasn’t been 'masturbation friendly' but I’m going to consider changing that going forward."
What do you love most about Adult Time? How does it help you having your content there?
"Adult Time creates and distributes pornography but also adult art that tries to do more than just stimulate erotic feelings. It seems to respect the genre in ways other creatives don’t… paying homage to classic exploration but also motivating creators to take it in whatever direction they choose."
What are your favorite Adult Time channels other than your own?
"There’s a lot of straight channels I think are doing great work but I think my favorites are in the trans porn category. It’s also something I’m interested in exploring.
There’s a reason why the topic of gender is so relevant in today’s world. I believe the movement away from binary gender roles will have a hugely beneficial impact on the health of society in the next few centuries. As a society, we can’t completely understand it just yet but I think the role of trans men and women (in addition to those who identify as non-binary) is ultra-important to future human progress. There’s also a lot of cis-gendered men who identify as straight that are attracted to trans women. Historically, trans porn portrayed these women as sexual actors and that’s it. The more realistic trans porn shown on Adult Time will hopefully lead to more instances of healthy romantic relationships between cis-gendered men and trans women."
What goals do you have for your work as a whole?
"To capitalize on the creative potential that the adult genre has to offer. There’s so much room to explore the disconnect between our animal spirits and modern society. I would also like to show more interesting characters and make adult art that has a cathartic effect. My goal as a content creator is to explore the absurdity of existence and make people understand that, regardless of what life throws at them, everything’s going to be alright. We’re all a small part of something much larger. We should cherish the experience but not take ourselves too seriously. "
What is coming up for Junk Productions? What should fans be on the lookout for?
"A higher percentage of content that’s masturbation friendly. Definitely characters and situations you’ve never seen in porn before. We have some great story-driven pieces coming out, one of them called 'Magna Cum Laude', starring Chloe Cherry which I’m excited to share in September.
I would also love to be able to work on higher-budget productions. Whether that’s by improving viewership of my content or by directing and doing cinematography for other companies. I would cherish the opportunity to help other Adult Time channels better achieve their artistic goals."
Is there anything you would like to say to your fans here at Fleshbot?
"Yes. Please be patient! I’m going to continue experimenting with a variety of styles and ideas. Some may be attractive to you and some may not. Either way, it’s all expression of how I perceive the world. While my content may not always be content to masturbate to, I’ll do my best to make sure it’s content that’s worth your time and energy."
