“Summer Love” by Chelsea Cutler: Anyone who knows me knows I’m a fan of a total revamp on a famous tune, and this is probably THE BEST remake I’ve heard (other than the time the Wiggles covered Tame Impala’s “Elephant” Mixed with Fruit Salad). The first time I heard this song, it took me a while to recognize Justin Timberlake. It’s an art form to take such a blaring tune and turn it into such a sultry, sexy, unrecognizable, and dare I say a better version. This has been playing many a time when I’ve been between the sheets with a lover.

“Exit Sign” by Hilltop Hoods, Illy, & Ecca Vandal: Can you ever go wrong with Hill Top Hoods?! Whenever I’m feeling overworked, sad, or just need a pick me up, all I need to do is put this on and lose myself dancing in my living room. What a bright, happy piece of art this song is.

“Weir” by Killing Heidi: This is a fun story. I lived in St Kilda in Melbourne for several months, literally across the road from the beach. One day, I came home from work and realized a festival was being held across the road within 30 meters of my house. What other song was playing than Weir? I always loved the song and knew it well, but I didn’t realize it was a song I NEEDED to hear live until I heard it. The chorus is just something else when heard in person. So, I sat in my backyard with a gin in hand, dancing away to my free concert by Killing Heidi.
