A lot of ink has been spilled about Linda Lovelace and "Deep Throat" over the years, but until recently no one seemed too interested in what costar Harry Reems had to say about his role in the film largely credited with bringing porn into the mainstream. In an exclusive interview at AVN today, Reems makes up for lost time and discusses his thoughts on the film's impact ("The Justice Department basically made the film succeed"), Lovelace's subsequent anti-porn stance ("Linda was never forced at gunpoint to do anything"), and the story of how a nice "Jewish kid from Manhattan" went from being a world famous porn star to a homeless alcoholic to the successful Park City-based born-again Christian real estate agent (!) he is today. It's a great read, and essential background material if you're planning on catching "Inside Deep Throat" during its limited national release this weekend.
