Porn Valley Dispatch: The Eroticist

The mug of porn director Ron Royster is a little bit Meatloaf Aday, a little bit Tiny Tim ... and all erotic! Like pals Eon McKai and Benny Profane, Royster, who made the film "Alternative Worldz: Atlanta" two years ago, is happy riding the altporn backlash as long as no one gives him shit about playing solo Mike Nesmith on his porn shoots. Says Royster, who was born and raised in adult company Adam & Eve's hometown of Chapel Hill, "I was hired to put together a music compilation forAdam & Evea few years ago. And I ended up offering their money back because I couldn't find any good music in their library. One of the top guys said, sort of sarcastically, 'Well, how would you make a porn movie?'"

The result was "Alternative Worldz: Atlanta" which everyone but Royster says signaled the beginning of the altporn movement.

Royster is now shooting a larger-budget VCA film, Atomic Vixens: Beyond the Valley of the Sluts in Los Angeles. It is his fourth film ever.

"The difference between Atlanta and L.A. is that everyone who showed up on set in Atlanta was a very enthusiastic amateur freak. And they showed up on time. Out here I was at the same time concerned about no-shows but I knew that three more girls could jump in if I lost someone. Look at Ashley Steel. She's gorgeous—and she's the replacement."

He looks at Steel and co-star Lacie Heart (speaking orgasmic Latin scripted by yours truly) and says, "Oh, Jesus."

"Atomic Vixens" is being co-produced and art-directed by pin-up photographer Octavio Arizala. The set is the best spaceship ever.

On the altporn label: "I don't care what people call it as long as I get to do it," Royster said. "I'm starting to call my stuff Glamorcore: hardcore chicks in glamorous poses. Last night we were shooting Mika Tan and Jade Starr with a double dong. When the scene was done I wanted to lick the whole thing."

Royster's electronic press kit person says, "I'm not sure that's erotic."
