Perhaps legitimate dominatrices will bristle at the porno bondage-lite that is "Taboo Tales," in which a smiling Sarah Shevon allows herself to be penetrated by a slave, but Santa's non-existence doesn't decrease my enjoyment of him, either.

Sure, the delightful Shevon goes through the motions of being a pro-domme: she's got the latex dress, the downtown Los Angeles warehouse, the leash...but all her talk of "puppies" and "service" just lead to her getting fucked.

And that's exactly the way I like it.

Don't get me wrong-some of my favorite people are humorless pro-dommes. But even in that community there is suspicion and judgment of porn and its bastardization of their ancient arts.

So director Jim Malibu's take on it is that he likes the outfits and some of the language of the hardcore BDSM world but, like the squaw in "Cool for Cats," it's the beating he don't need.
