While we recognize that this erotic encounter is a pivotal moment for the protagonist's life, it leaves us with many questions. For one, how come we don't get a raven-haired retro VHS-type Australian Stoya to be our spiritual guru/completely sexually compatible life partner?

We miss this brand of Manic Pixie Dream Girl; it seems like the late 90's version had a bit more gothic flavor, more spiritual concerns with the cosmos and how freaky sex makes the world go round. Nowadays we have the Zooey Deschanel type of MPDG who seems more fashionable and nerdy—perhaps at times political, but not fervently—and we'd like to go back. Furthermore, we think Stoya could make an excellent MPDG in a movie and someone should cast her to hang out with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
