Teigen is a model, Ghanizada is an actress, and Esquire somehow got to take underwear pictures inside both of their domiciles. Who came up with this brilliant "Me In My Place" photoseries anyhow?
Azita Ghanizada, an Afghan-American who fled Kabul as a baby when the Soviets invaded, has been a notable actor since 2004 and appeared in some popular network primetime dramas like "Numb3rs," "Veronica Mars," and "How I Met Your Mother." Her largest roles have been as Dr. Saira Batra on "General Hospital: Night Shift" and, most recently, as Rachel Pirzad, a lead character on "Alphas." Her interview for this spread is absolutely fascinating. She talks about her memories from Afghanistan, her experiences dealing with other refugees, working at bars and clubs, and—of course—her body.
Christine Teigen has been modeling since 2004, but she really made a name for herself when she showed up in Sports Illustrated's 2010 Swimsuit Issue. Her good friend Brooklyn Decker got her acquainted with the SI people, thus proving two of the most controversial social maxims of all time: it's all about who you know, and beautiful people are only friends with beautiful people. Oh, and Teigen is now dating John Mayer. Sigh.
Unrequited love and depression aside, we're happy that we now know two new names to obsess over! Thank you, Esquire.
