I'm a little behind the times on occasion, so I'm embarrassed to say that this is my first encounter with Fleshbot's 2010 Crush of the Year, Bobbi Starr. You can bet your (or her) sweet ass that it would be my last, though. "Vicarious" is definitely an interesting and super hot take on the otherwise yawn-inducing POV skin flick, and while it's probably not for anyone who wants to get really up close and personal (almost gynecological) with their porn stars, it was right up my… alley. My favorite porn features finger-fucking, oral sex, rim jobs, female ejaculation, and people who actually really enjoy fucking on camera, as well as pretty lingerie and hosiery getting ripped to shreds. Do you know how hard it is to find a good, long finger-fucking on camera?! Enough to warrant an interrobang.

"Vicarious" offers a nice variety of partners and sex styles to choose from, so if you like watching a tattooed girl get slapped around and choked, you will be pleased as punch with Rozen DeBowe. Prefer baby-faced girls with dirty mouths? Lexi Belle pledges her adoration for Bobbi's asshole while batting her lashes. Fun kinky times between friends? Hey, it's Kimberly Kane getting footsy and goofing around with Bobbi in a bathroom! If genderqueer fucking is your thing, the scene with Jiz Lee and Bobbi is sweet and sexy; plus, Jiz is wearing a pair of shorts that are sort of like briefs combined with a jock strap, so their cute ass is just hanging out for the world to see. Although the chemistry doesn't seem to run quite as hot in all the scenes, the stand-outs are sizzling. Dylan Ryan is a personal favorite of mine because she always seems really happy but chill, and while all of the stars were enthusiastic about diving into Bobbi's beautiful bush (and ass and so on), Dylan brings a little extra enthusiasm and fun to it; hearing her occasionally giggle in the middle of coming really, really hard is just superb.

That's the other thing. Bobbi generally doesn't leave her costars hanging, with the exception of Skin Diamond in the first scene. Skin says in her brief introductory interview that she's "so masochistic," so at the end of her scene, Bobbi pulls her hair a bit and gets up and leaves her on the floor. All of the other stars are treated to vigorous finger-fucking, tongue baths, ass exploration, toys, and even a foot job if they're into it. While feet aren't really my thing, I was still like, "Holy shit! She just stuck her toe in Dylan's pussy… and it was hot!"

While the scenes are about 20 minutes each, some of them seem longer and others not nearly long enough. (Hello, I would like more Aiden Ashley's sexy gothy mermaid-ness, please!) Maybe it's because some of the performers didn't excite me as much as the others, or perhaps the chemistry between them was off. It also would have been cool if the movie had either integrated more objective POV shots or ditched them altogether. Bobbi is just too much fun to not be able to watch, so when she's not just operating the camera but also in front of it, as in the scenes with Kimberly Kane and especially Aiden Ashley, it's an extra treat. Plus, peering at Jiz's Lee's pretty pussy as they manage to accommodate a giant glass plug is awesome, but watching people's faces as they orgasm is super hot, too. My other main complaint is the fake nails some of the performers sport. I know there are people with long fake nails who then put those long nails into vaginas, but it makes me cringe and takes away a little bit of my belief that they really like vaginas. Because ouch and also under-nail goop and general yuckiness.

While the extras aren't anything to write home about, the introductory interviews are a nice touch, and also, the movie is over three fucking hours, so, you know, get over yourself.
