“Bound 5” Pushes Envelope, If Not GPA

It's quite a freaky, hardcore compilation of scenes if the one featuring Audrey Hollander looks the tamest, but "Bound 5" makes us never want to visit the butterfly exhibit at USC ever again.

So there's Audrey Hollander getting piledriven in fishnets. But what else is new? Hollander, one of the submissively dirtiest women ever to crawl, ass-up, across the earth, is easily matched by Cindy Crawford in a hilarious send-up of "Blue Velvet" and outdone utterly by Gia Paloma at a frat house teeming with nonpixelated, easily-identifiable idiots.

The scenes in Jim Powers' (of course) "Bound 5" were taken, higgledy-piggledy, from his massive archive but, unlike several slapdash compilations, this one really cleaves to the theme and maintains quality throughout.

Stacy Thorn's latex blowup doll outfit that adorns the cover is the most compelling image, and Heather Gables looks good in anything, but Crawford's tryst with Dirty Harry after an uncredited actor sings "In (Wet) Dreams" a la Dean Stockwell in "Blue Velvet" is surreal and crazy and hot. Dirty Harry probably never saw "Blue Velvet," but he is Porn's answer to Frank Booth regardless.

But it is Gia Paloma's frathouse gimpbang that is the most arresting. Paloma hasn't shot a porn movie in years, so this ancient scene, in which she is fucked by a man wearing a gimp mask on a table surrounded by at least 30 cheering, beer-drinking dudes—some of whom are wearing USC sweatshirts—looks like it could have easily turned dangerous had Paloma not been Paloma (i.e. an extremely sexually aggressive woman).

Whoever plays the gimp is also a crowd-pleaser, capering in front of the agitated crowd, who begin throwing beer at him.

Powers has long corraled unruly groups of men in environments redolent of roiling testosterone, but this scene, filled with civilians whose parents could have probably exonerated them from criminal charges, seems like it was the most treacherous.

Whether you are horrified by it or just turned on, Paloma, Powers, and the Gimp really fucked in the face of danger that day.
