In this project, photographer Maciek Jasik aims to destabilize the visual cues that allow us to judge others so that basic evaluations of gender, age, and attraction can barely be made. How does he accomplish this? He has naked models contort their bodies in sea of vibrant colors. We feel quite comfortably destabilized!
For the record, we're still able to admire a beautiful pair of boobs or a well-shaped ass here and there in the gallery, but that's not the point of this project, Bypassing the Rational. In our opinion, Jasik's aim is to disrupt our natural urge to categorize and assume facts about people we don't know, and though the thought of never having any connection to these models (and, in a larger sense, anyone in the world) is alienating and painful, it allows us to appreciate them and these photographs on a purely aesthetic level.
Also, we think the colors are really, really pretty.
